Not at all 39 45.35%

On a 100" LED @ 1ft 11 12.79%

I'm blind 5 5.81%

What my commander said 1 1.16%

Depends on the console I support 8 9.30%

I don't play graphics, g... 8 9.30%

We've had several articles and threads about how the difference between 720p to 1080p (125% more pixels) is negible. So from 720p to 792p (21%) must be void, right? Besides being an odd res and linearly 10% better (the same percentage kinect and os take from gpu and cpu).

So if few extra pixels are worthless (but taxing to the system) what would you preffer to be done instead of pixel count? Smoother framerate, better lightining, better texture, better AI (some beta players complained about dumb bots) maybe cheaper game (mp focussed and less investment in graphics)?

What is your take?

I would go for 720p trying to keep steady 60fps also in busy situation.  But, doing this you will not have(right now, at today development stage) extra power for better effects, or stronger AI, system collision.   But if you go 720p, people will go mad cause it will sound like a PS360 game, even if it's not.  But the situation will get better when developers will spend more time on the hardware, this is true for both PS4 and Xbone.  Xbone graphics/performance will improve, and PS4 graphics/performance will improve.   But(and this is Off Topic), I believe the Gap between PS4 and Xbone will get bigger with time, 'cause with PS4 is easier to go more close to the metal, and the GPU is way more powerful and also more sofisticated capable of more parallelism;  Naughty Dog will show what I'm saying very soon.

I will give my take.

Respaw is trying to up the resolution to 900p FXAA or 1080p noAA with post launch patch... so the resolution difference is not negible for them.

Why would they if the fanbase said 720p almost equal 1080p? And why bother to go from 720 to 792 and not use the time for more important things?

Because there is no "the fanbase". This is the problem if you take the majority of forum opinions as a general opinion. And resolution does matter, according to "the Sony fanbase".

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

Like the betas great. They are using an old engine with old sdk code. Its awesome as it is. Either rewrite the code with latest sdk and do 1080p with msaa, or just wait for titanfall 2 to write new code for esram tiling techniques.

If you have a good tv, you're probably better off setting the output to 720p and let your tv do the upscaling. Does it help performance forcing 720p?

If it downscales the 792p to 720p instead of rendering 1280x720 than my suggestion is pointless. Scaling between resolutions that close never gives good results.

It's noticeable, but it's not a huge difference. It's a 20% difference, so not massive, but still something.

Is it visually noticeable to you or you just know the percentage and think it may make a difference?

I can tell the difference between 720 and 768p. So yes, I can tell a bigger difference. It's not huge, but it's still there. I couldn't personally talk about 792p because I've never seen the resolution before.

It would be bigger than 768p so you are safe to see the difference.

Just to make him lose face, that would be a good one.

I agree. I love people saying "But, but. Graphics on the x1 will improve! They're failing to remember that the same is true for the ps4. I think over the next year or so, games will look more similar with the ps4 still in a large lead. Then at some point, they will drop off. At some point 32mb just isn't enough to do anything. The sad thing about that fact (for x1 owners) is we're approaching that point incredibly fast.
