EA Sports UFC is a pretty game. The multiple screenshots we’ve seen that showcase what the in-game fighters will look like have proved that. Because of the game’s technical demands, creative director Brian Hayes has confirmed that the Wii U just isn’t in the cards for the next-generation MMA game.

“We're pushing the limits on PS4 and XB1,” he wrote on a recent Reddit Ask Me Anything. “Wii U isn't on the radar at this point in time.”

We’ve heard that one before. Third-party publishers just don’t seem to put much of an emphasis on supporting Nintendo’s latest console, but Hayes hasn’t ruled out a PC port of the game. When asked, he gave an inconclusive “maybe,” which is much better than what was said for the Wii U.

For now, though, expect EA Sports UFC to launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 no earlier than June of this year.

WiiU is still more powerful than PS3, and PS3 had the power to produce some visually stunning games. I don't believe that the WiiU couldn't handle whatever this turns out to be.

It wouldn't have sold much on wii u anyway.

I never liked the UFC games, this doesn't bother me at all. But what does bother me is EA not bringing ANY sports games to Wii U. I think eventually another dev/publisher will fill the void.

It's Nintendo's job to fill the void and they are currently doing an awful job.
