The only way I see it working correctly with current consoles is for some dedicated hardware built into the units.
I'd put it at $400 for that and like you I'd buy one to collect dust.

depend on support and how many game use this, but i think 400 is the right price.
Entirely depends on the specs. I found $1000 too high with 720p stereo glasses last gen. (HMZ-T3W nowadays, still 720p)
720p with with limited headtracking $199
720p with 6 axis headtracking $299
1080p with 6 axis headtracking plus PC support, $499
720p is most likely, $300.
I sometimes feel motion sickness while playing fast paced games, something that headsets would only make worse. So unless Sony, Valve, Oculus or whoever makes a 100% motion sickness free device, something that won't happen in the near future, the answer is 0 €.
Please excuse my bad English.

I'm not sold on the idea anyways. I'm just not convinced that a VR headset is a better way to play games, that's not even talking about paying hundreds of dollars for them.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
I wonder what would happen if you played something like, I don't know, Outlast but with better graphics. Would it effect your mind? Could you have PTSD from a video game if it's immersive enough?
Goodness me, Kowen. Don't hide a legitimate question in a silly title like that.
Edited.

Survival horror games with VR sound promising!
There´s actually a horror game named 'The Forest' in development that´ll have Oculus Rift support.

Heh. I debated putting in my own title but it is still your thread, so I just copied and pasted the question from your OP into it.
