The Last of Us Film Adaptation has a Distributor, Neil Druckmann to Write the Script

Neil Druckmann, Creative Director of The Last of Us, has been announced as the sole screenwriter for the game’s upcoming film adaptation. The film will be produced by Druckmann and Game Director Bruce Straley alongside Sam Raimi (Spider-Man & Evil Dead franchises) and Ghost House Pictures, alongside Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Screen Gems, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment, has signed on to distribute the film. No director, cast, or release window have been announced.

Hmm doesn't he now have Uncharted 4 to write given Henning's departure?

Anyway, it can't be as good as the game. The way the gameplay tied into the story was one of the reasons it was the best game of last year. A film just won't be able to replicate that emotional connection with the characters

Just be fucking quick, I want TLoU 2 asap!!!

But overall great news. TLoU is set in a universe that has huge potential and should be expanded  on and adapted in other entertainment branches, comics, movies, series, books. Sony should make a huge franchise out of it.

But unfortunately knowing how fast is Sony with movie adaptations of their games we'll see it in 2020 or most probably never.
