Forums - Gaming - Watch Dogs 1080p on PS4, 960p on Xbox One (both 30 FPS). Up to 4K on PC.

I fell off the hype train long ago with this game. I hope it is worth the wait for most of you.

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

Isn't the new XBOX update out by then?

Also the 960p seems to be confusing some people. Going off the op, here's how it stacks up.

720p: 921,600 pixels
960p: 1,228,800 pixels
1080p: 2,073,600 pixels

EDT: OP seems to have jumped the gun on saying it was 1280X960. Ignore this post.

960p would be 1707x960 on 16:9 ratio. That's assuming there is no other scaling involved.

I'd assume there would be scaling, but right now we're all just guessing. Heck even the source in the op seems like they could be making it up.

I'm just going to wait tell we have some credible sources and all the info.

Agreed.

Not even heard of the "thearabgamer.com" before until I saw it in the OP. DF should have you covered, though.

If people can't tell 960x1080 from 1920x1080 then I'm ok with 960p :-p

The image you see in Killzine is 1920x1080... you can't tell the difference because there is none... the render is 960x1080 but they use others three old frames to generate the 1920x1080 picture.

Unless you play the game without moving or panning, it is all too obvious I'm afraid.  900p or even 720p looks preferable to the blurfest option they went with.

On topic.  I've seen the leaked PS4 video of Watchdogs and it looks crap compared to the E3 videos shown.  Developer said the PS4 and XBox One versions are almost identical.  From the video I saw, it could have been WiiU or PS3/360.  The game mechanics may not have changed and it may still be a well designed game but I do not like being led up the garden path with bullshots and videos that are unrepresentative of actual play.

Great for PS4.

It's made out that the ps4 is so vastly superior to the x1. But 960p vs 1080 is so damn close I know I couldn't tell the differance on my 50 inch screen. If 120-180p is the differance between the 2 I am more than happy, as all I've heard for the last year is how x1 looks last gen.

It depends on the horizontal resolution which isn't stated.  It's not just 120 lines - it's a 2D area.

From 1280x960 to  1920x1080 (1080p) it's a 40% drop in pixel density.

I'd probably just quit gaming if I had to play at 960p. That extra 140p the PS4 brings to the party is the difference between heaven and hell.

I'm sure you're being sarcastic, but it's actually more than 120 vertical pixel lines. (It's also 213 horizontal)

Come on guys, this must be a 16:9 so it's 1707x960. With that said, the PS4 would feature 434,880 more native pixels than X1.

Oh, goodness.  That changes everything.
