Also the 960p seems to be confusing some people. Going off the op, here's how it stacks up.

720p: 921,600 pixels
960p: 1,228,800 pixels
1080p: 2,073,600 pixels

 

EDT: OP seems to have jumped the gun on saying it was 1280X960. Ignore this post.

960p would be 1707x960 on 16:9, assuming there's no other scaling involved.

I'd assume there would be scaling, but right now we're all just guessing. Heck even the source in the op seems like they could be making it up.

I'm just going to wait tell we have some credible sources and all the info.
