So, Knack is the best selling game in Japan for the week ending 22nd February, and will likely have topped 1 million sales by now as it needs less than 90,000 sales to do so. By far the best selling PS4 game in Japan, by an order of magnitude, (which is scary when you think about it), it seems it's average review scores in the west didn't scare people off.
What do people make of this? Is the media too hasty about Knack, is it maybe just a taste issue, a style of game that western critics weren't expecting? I've yet to play it outside of a 10 minute demo at a game store and it actually had a decent nostalgia feel to it, kinda felt like the old Crash Bandicoot games, but I've no idea if it's good as a whole. Still, with these sales figures this means 1 in 6 people who bought a PS4 own Knack, making it the 6th best selling game on the system after Call Of Duty: Ghosts, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, Killzone: Shadowfall, and Assassin's Creed 4. Could this jump in sales stear Sony in an unexpected direction, and do people expect Knack to get a sequel?
Just wondered peoples thoughts on the subject.
