Forums - Microsoft - Left 4 Dead confirmed 360 console exclusive

I'm pretty sure they stated there was supposed to be a PS3 version. Or was that just a rumor?

Btw, please read this again:

"EXCLUSIVE: The PC and 360 versions of Left 4 Dead will ship simultaneously, but there will be no PS3 edition".

They have EXCLUSIVE news on L4D platforms (hence the "EXCLUSIVE"), then at the end it says "there will be no PS3 edition". The thread title is legit. Maybe some of you guys need some better reading comprehension.

And if it confuses you, take the EXCLUSIVE out.

"The PC and 360 versions of Left 4 Dead will ship simultaneously, but there will be no PS3 edition"

Please read the actual article. They have no official word from Valve meaning that its jsut speculation.

Uh, ssj, read Bod's post.  "There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead announced, nor in development. Not sure how that got started."

So why the hell did they talk about a PS3 version in the first place? Its not like it came from some third-party source or something.

I don't recall them ever talking about a PS3 version.

And kingofwale, he said "360 console exclusive"...I assumed it meant for consoles, it's 360 exclusive.

But of course I know all about the PC version...you'd be stupid to buy a console version anyway...it's like buying the PC version of Halo...dumb.

Well some of us don't have any other choice. I plan on buying the 360 version. It's not like I don't want to buy it on PC. It just that my PC can't handle it! XD

And c'mon, it can't be THAT bad. I mean, I bought Orange Box for 360, and it was still an excellent game. Still had me immersed and I had a pretty good experience.

And I guess one thing that's better on 360 for Left 4 Dead is that most Live users have a mic that bundled with the console. And Left 4 Dead being a co-op heavy game, I find that's it's a much better way to communicate.

Another point, I can't see this game coming to PS3, after the Orange Box ported to PS3 fiasco. I think Valve (or Turtlerock Productions? Clarify please!) might just forget porting over to the PS3.

360 IS OPERATIONAL AFTER 37 DAYS!

LOL, naznatips, I was laughing when I read ssj's first post, right after reading Bod's post. Then he argues it again...I was like...wtf?!?! Thanks for clearing that up as fast as possible, I could see SSJ making a few more posts like that before finding out what Bod posted.

Currently Playing:

PS4 - Killzone:SF and Assasins Creed 4

XBox One: BF4, CoD:Ghosts, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5

Changing channels with my voice: priceless!!!

It's not THAT bad...though it is undeniably limited...I'm just saying...it's not like a 360 vs. PS3 comparison, where's there's minute graphic differences, etc.

The PC version of Valve games is the original, the graphics are obviously considerably better, the control is arguably better, as even if you don't like mouse/keyboard, the game is undeniably designed for that setup...and the 360 version of TF2 is limited to 16 players...where the recommended and standard game of PC TF2 is 24 players....that's the sweet spot.

So if a 360 player ever says TF2 is boring...it's probably because A) the controls are slower because it's a port from a PC game, B) There are fewer players than a regular PC match.

Left 4 Dead only has 8 players in a game...so 360 won't have that problem...though it is a fast, intense game, and it will be different, arguably better with PC control...not to mention user maps and official updated maps, which 360 players won't see until much, much later than PC players, if at all.

And again...I think people underestimate how good Valve is with optimization...I'm sure a lot of you can play a Valve with little to no upgrading.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I certainly understand the sentiment of buying it on what you have.  However, the mic statement is pretty weak.  You can buy a PC mic for $10, and there aren't going to be many (if any) PC gamers on this game without mics.  Most groups will probably require them in fact.

Also, neither Valve nor Turtle Rock have anything to do with the 360 port.  EA is publishing it, and they hired some studio named Certain Affinity to do it.  Apparently all this studio has done before this is made Halo 2 maps.

In any case KingofWale, the prohibitive costs of PC gaming make this game as good as 360 exclusive as far as the mass market is concerned.

Ugh, more people who don't have any clue how expensive PCs are. You can build a PC for $500 that will play every multiplat game this generation better than the consoles do, and if you are willing to pay another $100 every couple years for a new graphics card, you'll be able to play all PC exclusives of the generation too. Consider you are paying $10 less for games and not paying $50 annually for an overpriced crappy online system it's fairly clear that there is not a large cost difference.

And I'll be damned before I let someone call an EA port of a Valve game handled by some random Halo 2 map developer a 360 exclusive.  A 360 console exclusive sure, but not a 360 exclusive.

Great. Looks like I better get rolling on plans to build that rig.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

Thread title is not misleading. I'll probably get this game on 360.
I'm sure it'll look great.
