The chaps at Assassin’s Creed: Initials (via OnlySP) have indicated that the next chapter in Ubisoft's stealth-action franchise will possibly take place in Russia.

The site first Tweeted (4e6f727468) = 110.646 - 55.762667, which according to a poster onNeoGAF, means North. The user then punched this into Google Earth, coming up with a possible location for the modern day Assassin’s Creed storyline.

Next up, (45617374) = 74.795917 - 37.579250 was posted, meaning East. Again, a quick look at Google Earth points to a location near Moscow, Russia. Could this be the setting for the main historical portion of Assassin’s Creed V?

It’s worth pointing out that the series has a well-established Russian assassin, thanks to the comic Assassin’s Creed: The Fall. This particular story focuses on Nikolai Orelov between 1888-1908, as well as his modern-day descendant, Daniel Cross. 

As such, it isn’t entirely out of the question that Ubisoft could be willing to explore the Russian setting for a full-fledged video game outing.

It really is! I wonder if it could hurt sales of the game if it turns out to be true?

Getting drunk will be a very important aspect of the game if true.

The tweet was just hinting at Nolan North being the voice of the next assasin. More seriously, I think turn of the century Russia is an amazing setting for a game. I hope Rasputin is involved somehow. I've always been intrigued by him.

The only thing that hurts sales is how the game is coming out with yearly iterations.

Also, it cant be any worse than the setting of Assassins Creed 3. 3 and 4 were clear cash in's. With one of the original developers of the series back on the helm, maybe the series can go back to having more interesting settings and less "cliché" aimed at sales.

for some reason, i find AC IV to be worse than AC, AC 2 and brotherhood especially in terms of story and setting. still haven't finished AC IV. Always get tired minutes into a session. I just dislike the pirate stuff in the game.

That's not too far off because Assassin's Creed pretty much plays itself.

Revolutionary Russia around 1917 would be an amazing historical setting, I really don't like how AC plays and would never normally buy it, but I could be tempted if this were the case

That said late 19th century China would still be my prefered option
