Ok, this will probably be the most controverstial one yet... but hear me out!

Lets say they dropped Mario and went with a new game, put those resources and people into a whole new genre with no relevence to the Mario franchise. Do you think a brand new IP with the same resources behind Mario could have (or) would be better for not having it being tied down to Mario? a brand new reason to do those jumps and stomp on those heads?

Before you vote sink or swim, just imagine a brand new game from those that would be creating a new Mario game, creating something brand new without having to somehow tie it into the whole Mario franchise? would that be better or worse for it?

As great as I think the Mario franchises have been and are, I would love to see what those who create those could come up with given free reign

What Nintendo should do is make Mario and make new IPs... They have lots of money, higher dem developers (which they are looking for, just go to their twitter) and make a brand new franchise

Mario sells whether or not people like it, Mario games are fun and the 3d ones are amazing, Mario will continue to sell until Nintendo files for bankruptcy which after 100 years of business, I doubt it will be anytime soon.

So Swim for me

Also, think about it like this as well, there are not many 3d platformers at all, heck, there aren't that many 2d ones either so we do need Mario to make sure the platforming genra, specially 3d, doesn't die out. Mario is basically the only franchise that does 3d platforming right and always manages to surprise how much effort the put into their games

What if the game industry had a Lcokout for a year. Imagine what it would look like when it rebounded. Oh and Sink, but I have never been a Mario enthusiast.

Can't we all just get along. If not for yourself, do it for the future.

I would love the NSMB team to try a whole new IP, while EAD Tokyo continues to make excellent Mario titles. The best of both options.

SINK !!!

Mario is gaming's Mickey Mouse. Swim. Swim forever.

I don't think mario should die by any means, but maybe not have 4 of them come out in the same year. If they want any chance of success, they need new games.

Swim. It would be better if the team made different IP's so 3D console Mario's are 6 years apart instead of right now where 3D console Mario's are 3 years apart.

Swim. Drunk gaming wouldn't be the same without our precious Mario platformers!
