Forums - Gaming - Next studio Sony are going to buy?

As much as id hate to say, the way PS4 is selling, they don't have to buy any developers for the entire gen because there is incentive enough to fund 3rd party exclusivity without outright ownership.

The thing is, the PS4 and Xbone are so similar that the benefits for developing for both outweigh the costs for doing both. Maybe we'll just get more lazy ports, but as a publisher now, I think the Xbox One has enough for you to start your 2 year development on both

Ready at Dawn has to be next, they were hinting at it in a Game Informer interview.

Can Sony even afford buying studios is the question for me, after laying off people and selling buildings and withdrawing I don't see that they would do that anytime soon......

They've been laying off and hiring at the same time for a long time. I wouldnt look too much into letting 50 people go, it could just be their product was just not good but their product alone was costing sony big time and they have to recoup some of the losses, but if buying a studio could be profitable then they'll jump on that.

Its the same people who bought gaikai randomly for 300 mill dollahs.

No one?

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Quantic dream or Ready at Dawn probably.
If sony would buy Firesprite I'm gonna lol.

edit: Actually I want them to buy Insomniac.

Doing things like that saves money.

It's not like they can't afford anything anymore
