I would also like to point out that many of the offerings on XBO/PS4 are just "up-ressed" versions of PS3/360 games. Many of the games people are looking forward to on these consoles come from PS3/360, or even PS2/XB era.

Retro released one of the greatest 2D platformers of all time in DKCTF. It's an amazingly high quality game, that looks incredible. Why are you made about this?

I wanted Metroid too, but TF is an amazing game that won me over with it's overabundance of charm.

Okay, so we agree that if people buy DKC:TF (etc.) then it's not them clinging to game made for the Wii? They are just "buying and supporting what they like."

pretty much. I dont even know where the hypocrisy thing came from or what it has to do with anything. There was only one guy in the entire thread who was talking about maybe clinging to old thngs but even then you dont know if he bought those up rezzed games for PS4 or One so even then...

Oh, I wasn't talking about this thread. In fact, I only read the OP and none of the responses. I was talking about the greater part of VGC.

Though, it sort of proves my point, when the userbase during DKCR's release was MORE than TEN TIMES the size, but the launch sales are only 4-5 times as much. The attach rate of DKC:TF is clearly higher, which is a good thing, and not really a "flop".

Having said that, this thread is still depressing, why can't we be talking about how soft the fur looks or something!?

A new generation just started. Can't expect every game to take full advantage of the new hardware. Publishers don't want to just let go of the 160m userbase on PS3/360. 

Except when multiple of the (larger) games from the PS2/XB era were carried over to the PS3/360, and now from PS3/360 to PS4/XBO. I'm not saying this is wrong, I'm saying it's wrong to accuse Nintendo/Retro of not doing something new and then act as if everyone else does things different/new all the time, or even some of the time.

It does not appeal to a wide demographic of people who don't already own a Wii U.
