No more "DK didn't move consoles" threads

Thank god 198 98.51%

Total:198

Because hardly anyone asked for another DK game, it wasn't expected to move a lot of consoles, and it didn't move a lot of consoles. It probably wont have much legs to sell much in the end.

it's not a bomb bro, it sold like 130k + EU in a crashing video game market

huh? The video game market is stronger than it ever has been before. Both PS4 and X Box One have shattered sales records for their launch and PS4 is still on pace to outsell the Wii as far as launch, first month, and maybe first year. It's on that pace easily. So how is the video game market crashing again? Outside of Nintendo releasing a console with last gen tech and the same games we have seen for a decade, THAT is why they are failing thus far. I think they get back on track soon. But a failing market is just a ridiculous thing to say.

It's sarcasm.

Hardly bombing. At worst, it's selling at a similar level to Pikmin 3. And that game was coming off the back of a prominent drought.

It's not doing much for the system itself, but pretty much nothing will at this point.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

So... legs on games dont count anymore...? And aren't the sales numbers from like day 1 sales and not the whole week?

Honestly, with your hand at your heart, tell me you believe it will have legs to reach at least half of Returns numbers.

Obviously not... even if the wiiu was successful,  it still wouldn't sell that much considering the install base since the wiis install base was huge

I think you need to stop checking software sales and stuff like that. I've only see you make "doom" or "dissapointment" threads...
OP: Of course it's Nintendo's fault! There's no other to blame. They made the Wii U the most anticonsumer hardware I've ever seen.

There has not been anything to celebrate. Nothing.

You cannot expect positive threads when there's nothing positive.

If the next console gave us games with outstanding effects graphics and gameplay and it sell like no other console I'll be the first to celebrate. But now, you cannot ask anyone to be happy with the worst performance of a mainstream console ever to Nintendo.

The problem is that there wasn't a lot of demand for it. Anyone could've told you that. No one was asking for a continuation to Donkey Kong Country Returns. People want new experiences from Nintendo. They're running dangerously close to running iconic franchises dry.

We will see other bombs as well. Mario and Zelda are safe, but Bayonetta 2? The first game had little demand and even Capcom didn't want to make a sequel, but Nintendo scooped it up. The game will fail horribly. Same with X. I know I'm speculating, but whoever is greenlighting these projects needs to be kept in check,

And Metroid would have bombed too. It's a great game. That's what matters to me. Same with Mario Kart, which won't bomb but is doubtful to put up huge numbers.

If the Wii U was succesful it could have sold better.

Anyway, the point of DK was because other games like Metroid for example sold in three games the same as Returns alone. But now that sales are giving the back, what else can they do? I'll like to believe Nintendo will learn, but I have my doubts they are enough stubborns to release a third DK game.

oh wow. I feel dumb. Way over my head lol!

Just cos you you didn't want a DK game doesn't mean other people didn't, gamers these days are to demanding just be happy with what you've got, if not sell your wiiu instead of complaining every two minutes
