Chrizum game is made with Dink SmallWood engine (I think).
I can not offer any kind of technical help, unless you would like someone to playtest the game and make harsh critics.

If this is going to be a real proyect, yeap, we will need that kind of help

Who thinks that Soriku should be a hidden boss?
lol

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

I'm in for it. I've fiddled around with RPG maker in the past.

I can't remember but is it RPG maker XP that can do MMO's? if it is then cool.. .if it's not then there is another one out there just like it that does.

Oh and I'm a member of www.realmcrafter.com

It's a MMORPG creation engine for 3d style games... one of the easiest and best 3d MMO game creation systems. Costs a little bit of money ($50 US or so) but it's flippen worth it.

Although I don't mind working on a 2d RPG neither.

It's me...  no really, it IS me!!!

You have my interest, although I don't know how much I can help, never tried RPG maker before.

Also, we need an optional character that has to beat you in order to join you. If you do the obvious thing and win, the characters burly father comes, beats you up and steals your stuff.

Edit; I'll check this thread every so often to see if there is any update.

oh and here's some free 2d MMORPG ones... if your interested. Being MMO, we can all be online and design as it goes.

http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/  - I've used this one.. awsome and very VERY easy.. yet really good.

http://www.splamm.com/elysium - haven't looked at this one before.

Now that actually sounds interesting.  I might have to actually fiddle with that and would love to take an active role in that.

I would play it. I don't know what I could do to help make it. Maybe I could be a tester. Is it going to be a jrpg or a wrpg. They are all good though.

I'm interested in helping out, but I don't know how much time I have since I am a Game Design major at my college.

At the moment I'm working on a Platformer game using Game Maker 7 for my class.

I'd like to help, but I'm often busy. I'll try to help though. Sounds like a great idea.

You're correct! It's an upgraded Dink Smallwood engine (retail version was 1.04, this is 1.08 with 24-bit support and some technical enhancements) It's a pretty archaic engine, but it offers a nice set to work with.

To answer Twesterm's question: no, I didn't make everything myself, in fact about 25% is Dink Smallwood's own graphics, 45% is ripped graphics from numerous games and about 30% is made by many different artists (amateur work). I make about 5% of the game's graphics, though I do alter every single graphic to fit in the game, so it's actually tons of work because I don't know much about making graphics.

Most of the work I do goes in mapping and programming.
