Shin Megami Tensei 1 Coming To North America For The First Time

Shin Megami Tensei—the very first Shin Megami Tensei for the Super Famicom from 1992—is coming to North America for the first time ever, in English. Atlus USA will be releasing the game for iOS devices in March. You can watch a trailer for it below.

SMT1 has a number of the features that fans of modern Shin Megami Tensei games are familiar with, including demon negotiation and the demon fusion system. You can visit the game’s official website here. Shin Megami Tensei will cost $7.99 and will be available March 18th.

Wow this is actually an incredible announcement! I played the original with the fan translation and I loved it, good to see the smartphone master race will finally be able to enjoy this game!

Shit, this would be my first mobile game if I had an iOS device that could play it (it shouldn't be too demanding but I don't think a gen3 iPod Touch is going to cut it)

 

Also is it this one or SMT2 where the final boss is God/Yahweh?

Why are people getting angry at this? I think almost everyone has a smartphone, and instead of complaining be glad you will get to play the game.*

Frankly speaking, I see nothing attractive with this game! The gameplay is dull and boring and from what I can see in the trailer, the action is pretty repetitive and the graphics surely doesn’t help making things any attractive. Shin Megami Tensei might have been a hit back in the days, but I do not see the past repeating itself I’m afraid!
