Slavery in US didn't end until 60's PRACTICALLY. Other parts until 1980's (African colonies).

Umm I half think you misread my post.  

Firstly, that link didn't just show that africans still have slavers, it also says that they have had it even back in the 1800s.  Of course people condemn that, I'm just countering the argument that White People have some big apology to make.  That and the argument that they were wronged in some horrible way.  It happened to everyone.  

No I never got picked on for being white, I live in Canada.  We're the ones who never got into slavery and actually snuck the slaves out of the US.  Were you being picked on for being white?  I am having trouble understanding where that line even came from because I never mentioned anything like that.  I'm more of an outside commentator wondering why the situation is so ridiculous down there...

All I'm saying is, wars are started by everyone.  Slavery was practiced by everyone.  Brutality happened on all sides.  Thus, there's no reason white people should be left out of the conversation mentioned by the thread starter.  


Most of the brutality these days comes from Africa.  They eat each other for breakfast down there.

Who the hell reads an entire thread.  I thought that was the argument that the "whites should stay out of multiethnicity" had.  Only reason we should stay out of it is if we're the bad guy here, and we're not.  Just greedy people being greedy, same as it's always been.

Probably they're eating each other for the same reason US has been doing it for the past 200 years inland and abroad.

Tell that the the UK Government and Europe. I am "White British". There is also "White Other". So you will find that I am defined as "White" in law.

That's really true across all races. Black Americans (and Afro-Caribbeans that you'll find in the UK) have it differently because slavery just sort of mixed up all the ethnicities, so black became just black, as far as anyone can gather.

Of course, it also comes from perspective, and how close you are to your roots that allows you to be recognized as distinct. In Lagos, you're an Ibo, in London, a Nigerian, in New York, just Black. (could also work with the UK, being a Welshman in London, a Brit in Cairo, and a "white guy" in Bangkok.)

You are missing the point. Even if those statistics were true, which I'm not sure if they are, that be missing the core point of BET. The point of BET is not merely to boost the amount of Black actors on television; rather, it is primarily meant to provide entertainment particularly for the Black audience (whether or not it succeeds at that is another question). Now, let's think about whether or not the same thing would make sense for the White audience...no it would not. Almost all television channels try to produce entertaintment for the majority (Whites); so it would be pretty redundant to make a channel particularly for Whites. 

Further, if a company wanted to make a channel called "White Television", then no one would catch a fit. Yes, people would be shocked because there are already plenty of channels that would accomplish the same goal, but it definitely would not be forcibly shut down lol. But of course, this is all hypothetical conjecture which would be impossible to prove or disprove. So I would rather not get too deep into this hypothetical scenario.

This is a huge lie and you know it. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be on a plane within the hour. I also don't understand you believe every other channel is White People TV. Pretty certain people target genders and ages, meaning humans not color.

I meant that the Africans are lliterally eating each other, and I can only take your comment about the US doing the same thing as figurative, about imperialism perhaps bc Americans sure as hell dont have to be cannibals.  Also, when conditions in many areas of Africa are thst bad, you start to want to generalize a bit.
