SSM is not shuttering. They removed a team, and are replacing it with new people. That means they didn't like the team that was there, OR that team wasn't designed to make the kinds of games SSM makes. SSM makes God of War, but they also made Journey. They are a huge dev and they are actually moving to a bigger studio

I'm still waiting on clarification before jumping to conclusions.

SSM just moved to a bigger building and has been hiring a lot of people. Firing people due to money being tight just doesn't seem to make sense.

Its very clear that with MS hiring more developers to produce games for the X1 that Elops plan to sell off the Xbox division is in full swing. You always hire before you try to sell off or close a division/product line.



Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Maybe Sony have sold off enough buildings they can afford to hire a few new developers. But if they don't sell enough Xperias, it's back to the chopping block with ya!

just trying to make themselves more competitive by securings dev from a very known studio...

I hope we are not making too much of a deal out of this...we see devs leave to other companies or to start their own, nothing major will happen from this, besides isn't SSM actually expanding?(or moving..somthing like that)

I think they just bought a building, but it's cool cuz they sold vaio.

Microsoft is always dipping their hands in former Sony staff. I doubt they have a clue as to what they want they just need creatives affiliated with Sony. Just goes to show Sonys track record precedes itself.
