Once and for all guys. I'm not saying it's going to sell as well as the other systems, however it could. When games have released at the same time and been of similar quality the results have in some cases spoken for themselves. Now I could care less if you call the games "kiddie" or whatever because it's kind of moot and a good game is a good game. But the lego games have all sold similarly, Rayman did as well, and Disney Infinity. All sold similar. The fact is that AC3 was kind of a crap game, I nearly didn't buy the 4th (I'm glad I did because it is a much better game, still nothing amazing) because of that, plus it has issues with performance. The same goes for COD:BLOPS2. BLOPS2 should not be the high point of the COD franchise of the last 2 years but it is because Ghosts is pretty bad, the story, the maps, the multiplayer are all inferior to BLOPS2 which as I said isn't a great game. I own all 4 of those games and honestly I can't really recommend any except AC4 to anybody as worth playing and spending money on them. There is a reason that both of these franchises are in decline.
Sports games are what they are. The fact that people keep buying the same games with updated rosters blows my mind. Roster updates used to come free in patches. But sports fans are sports fans and many will buy them no matter what but for many games it is about timing. They use media to build them up and hype them, if that fades away so will the sales.
With the PS4 and X1 it's not surprising that many of the games have sold well, when you only have a hand full of games to buy with a new system they will all sell well, especially if it's COD or AC since they are still large franchises even if they are in decline.
