Now to watch the coming weeks, to see where the PS4 settles.

Oh I agree. But it is wishful thinking PS4 rates are higher % than these right now. I beleive free game (Knack, free is still free) plus the F2P games from PSN are keeping Japanese busy for now.

Definitely. Was just confused because there were some people on this forum claiming that the digital rate in Japan is especially high.

That's why I answered you. ;) People state their wishes as facts. You asked for source and data, which is the right way to find out real information. Digital Age will come to Japan, I am sure, but it is not there now (apart from mobile, of course).

My predictions weren't bad.
I predicted 350K consoles and Yakuza under 100K.
My only bad prediction was Dynasty Warriors because I expected 25K.

I really hope Western games don't get too much of a foot hold in Japan. It's bad enough that a lot of studios in the West have balls the size of pickles but we really don't want Japanese developers following the trend.

Most Japanese developers can't make a good game to save their life these days. Nintendo seems to be the only exception anymore and the good third party Japanese games that occasionally come out are usually 3DS exclusive.

If Japan wants a PS4 this gen they won't have much of a choice but to play Western games unless they are content with horrible games like Dynasty Warriors or don't mind waiting years between quality releases of games like Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III.

The press actively promoted Western games and disparaged Japanese games for years during the 360 and PS3 era. That lead to lots of Japanese studios trying to Westernise their games when in reality, the fanbase wanted those Japanese games BECAUSE they were Japanese.
