Are you joking? That's like hoping Pepsi will become more popular than Coca-Cola. As much as I love Nintendo, there's no way the Wii U can ever outsell the PS4. It's better to hope for better sales than think the Wii U can outsell the PS4. It's too late for that.
PS4 could be really front loaded. And the blue ocean may come flooding back once Wii U gets into their price range, which should be $250, or maybe $199.
But I've always contended the blue ocean is largely a one generation phenomenon. And while I think PS4 is somewhat front loaded it still seems to be a console that will sell very well for most of the generation.
There is a non-zero chance I'm wrong, so yes, Wii U could come back and wind up on top.

speaking of your blue ocean, there is nothing to suggest that after a year abd a half on the market that there will be a sudden spur in interest for the system. It always is from the get go when the people jump o. The longer Wii U flops around like a fish out of water the more unlikely it is to set the charts a blaze. After a year and half i consider its chances next to nill right now

LMAOOOOO! No..no..no no no no...nooooo. PS4 has outsold Wii U's 1 year and a few months worth of games with just hype alone lol Mario Kart and Smash will help Wii U as much as they did the GameCube.
One thing is pretty much certain: the WiiU will not have the summer doldrums it had last year -- if only for the fact Mario Kart is released.
When you consider also Bayonetta 2, Watch Dogs, Smash Bros, Sonic Boom, and Skylanders, you're talking about a machine that has serious cross-segment appeal at a competitive price.
I don't think the hype around PS4 can last forever

Nintendo would have to drop the system to $150 US, and then advertise the hell out of it.
They would need to go after the media with WiiU kits and get them talking about it.
Nintendo isn't planning to do that, so the chance is really 0%
