For better or for worse, Vita will be pitted against the Nintendo 3DS. But the comparison doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and even if you were to pit them against each other, Vita is still destined to sell better. That's because in addition to games (which Nintendo 3DS is still sorely lacking), it's also a much more powerful machine capable of doing a whole lot more than 3DS.

This article was hilarious before they updated it. It was supposed to show the decline in sales for Mario games-- they failed because the list wasn't in chronological order. Why? When you do that it actually shows spikes in sales. So instead they showed it in order of highest sales to lowest sales to support their argument. The problem with that is that it doesn't show a decline in sales either since some of the Wii, DS, and 3DS games outsold NES and SNES games. They updated the chart, but it's still a fail on their part.

Well the one in the op is an article failure, but it's "doom" status was actually pretty on point stating how Japan was moving towards handhelds.
