Nah, I've tried that before and people jsut dont seem to see it regardless of how much I break it down and then resort to name calling. Just you watch for yourself and see.

By Dec 2008 you'll start to see a significant shift from the wii to the PS3 in Japan and by 2009 it'll be rather obvious the PS3's got a foot hold on Japan and others.

Chubear, you can see why I would be skeptical, but I really really want you to be right, so I'm rooting for you mate! I would like to hear some kind of reasoning though, just for fun! ;)

Nah not me. The wii's momentum was/is too radically huge for that to happen. And no, not an oracle at all. See sometimes some people can just see a pattern clear as day.

 That's a quality all the great financial analysts have. Not some ominus mind or presence but they just see a pattern before others do and thus make a few people very very happy and very very rich.

Both consoles had price drops.  Sony dropped the price $100, while MS dropped the price $30-50.

Also, the cheapest ps3 is still $130 more expensive than the cheapest 360 after the price drops, yet it's currently outselling it by tens of thousands a week worldwide. ;)

Yeah I know it easy to see how people are skeptical, I'm used to it. Like I said eariler, I would love to break it down but I've learnt that doesn't help at all.

All I know is I have, so far, never been blatantly wrong about the end results of console platforms since before the PS1.

I remember attending CES, I think in 1992 or 1993, and listened to an interview with Kutaragi san of where he'd like to see the gaming industry go to. I looked at the then vague blue print outline of the console and told my friends that the PS1 was going to beat both Sega and Nintendo.

Ofcourse they laughed. Yes, everyone now will say "the PS1 was a no brainer. Everyone loved it form the get go" but no, people doubted it a lot and practically no one I knew of back then thought of Sony's PS1 as a serious contender let alone to beat out both Sega and nintendo.

I had no idea it would go on a 100mill tear but still..

I told so many people to stay away from the 3DO (which I was really baffled how many didnt' see their business module as very flawed) and certainly told them that Sega was going to drop out the console hardware race and yes ofcourse there was "uh? now you're being stupid dude. Even if the DC doesn't win, no way Sega's droping hardware - COME ON IT'S SEGA DUDE!"

Yup, well we all know now what happened and you'll get people now saying "well, that was obvious" but no, apprently it wasn't back then in 1999/2000. There were a few who saw it too sure but they were ridiculed too.

 Also, I told some people within the first 4months of the xbox launch that it would fail. I thought if it would 35million and it would end there. Yes I was wrong about that figure seeing as the xbox didn't get to 25mill but still, you get my drift.

At this point I jsut cant' be arsed to go through details like I used to. People jsut dont get it ost of the time and I'm kinda over all that trying to make people see what I see. They eventually do anyways.

(Edit) Also, The first time I saw and played MGS1 is when I knew Kutaragi san wasn't just talking out his arse and I totally gave ALL support to the playstation brand of gaming.

LOL the spike was Euro launch.

If PS3 had come out in Europe at the same time as NA and Japan ( which Xbox360 did) it's safe bet to assume they would have sold in the 5 months leading to that spike what they sold during Euro launch.

So you're just making our point even more.

The PS3 got to 10 millions 4 months before the Xbox360 and it wasn't even out in one of it's key market for the first 5 months....

equals total months for ps3.

37 total months for ps3. How many months did it take xbox?

Uh? Erm.. I think you're a little off with your outline there. That's not how you should look at it.

I redid my math

It took Ps3 44months to reach 10mil

It took 360 60 months to reach 10mil

So Ps3 is 16 months ahead of 360.(Aka 5 months)

I know each console hasn't been out that long. I added each regions months seperatly.
