my buddy had his wii packed away until smash brothers comes out. so, i convinced him to give me his wii until then. that means it's time to play some games (pretty much just no more heroes and to beat super mario galaxy... nothing much else has come out recently).
I really like the style of this game - it seems like all the little things add up. I love how lots of things are pixelated (especially the minimap). The retro feel and sounds really adds to the game, I can't emphazise this enough. combat is pretty good, i like how you have to recharge your electric katana. The combat system as a whole seems to be fairly narrow (when compared to something like devil may cry) from what i've seen but what it does, it does well. My only complaints thus far is the simplistic enviroments and the poor lighting. collision detection while you are cruising about on your sweet rocket bike is pretty awful but this doesn't matter too much. as far as i can tell this game is a stylistic masterpiece, i'm holding out to see how good (and deep) the gameplay is.
another thing, the blood, swearing and sex themes really add to this game. To remove any of those would be to change the game for the worse, imo.
