Forums - Gaming - What ND should do about a TLoU sequel...

I also thought that an anthology would be a great next step for The Last of Us. I think it would be really cool if various game directors could each tell whatever story they would like within the universe (probably within certain guidelines that Naughty Dog would set up to make sure nothing gets made that is too out of line with what they have established). Length could vary greatly depending on the directors vision, though they probably should not be much longer than Left Behind.

No sequel in my opinion. I hope they will do one more story DLC but i doubt it will happen.
As much as I would like to play more TLoU, it is more special if it stays a standalone title. I think a book would be nice, to act as a prequel/fillers or sequel to the original story.

I don't get why anyone would be against getting more of a good thing. I mean, if The Next to Last of Us came out and it sucks, does it make The Last of Us any less of a good game than you thought it was? No. Sure it might bring the franchise as a whole down a peg or two, but isn't that better than no more Last of Us?

Like Bioshock. Was Bioshock 2 anywhere near as good as Bioshock? Imho, no. But was it still a good game? Yes. Same could go for Last of Us.

Not to mention it's not like they couldn't make some improvements. Who wouldn't want to see a sequel that is more open world minded with a bigger emphasis on survival? LoU holds your hand the whole way though. How about a Fallout/DayZ/State of Decay type Last of Us game? Yes please.

No thanks. The last of us works so well because of the tight balance between narrative and gameplay. Open world would ruin the powerful story telling.

Another story in the same setting with different characters could work. Maybe separate story lines that intertwine at certain points, or play in different time lines switching back and forth between characters. Expand on the type of storytelling in Left behind.

No sequels, no prequels, nothing.

If there was a sequel, it would be better to have it take place even farther in the future and not have Joel and Ellie in it.

ND needs to focus more on the aspect that humanity destroys itself, and not the zombie/clickers plague kinda like what shinegi no kyugen does.

Nah, Joel and Ellie's should story should end with the TLoU. They left it on a bitter note, but I think its best to leave the the rest of their story open for intepretation. There no need to add anything more to it imo.

A second game with a new characters, for me (set in the same world) would be most welcome. They could even give cues and hints to the protagonists and characters in first game, or have cameo roles like in Borderlands 2.

Truthfully.. I want a new IP, if anything from ND first. We already have an Uncharted game in the works, so I wouldnt mind them putting TLoU 2 in the back burner for a while. Something new like Savage Starlight (like a mock up) would be quite refreshing to play.
