You see, in the fast-paced hack-and-slash genre, I'm consistently baffled that developers like Sony Santa Monica, Ninja Theory, or Crytek continue to target 30 fps (and fail, in Ryse's case). What's up with that? Are they trying to make the best game in its genre, or the best graphical showcase? :P DMC4, Metal Gear Rising, and Bayonetta (360 version lol) are simply the smoothest, least laggy hack-and-slash titles of the seventh genreation, and I'm happy to see Platinum contuning the trend with Bayonetta 2. Kudos for putting playability first.

God of War is above 30fps, not 60 though. Also when I read the thread title I thought you meant from a sales perspective: :D

60fps is really over rated. Some genres it does matter a lot, but to me a hacknslash with locked 30 is great.

Also bayo 2 is rumored 720@60fps. I think 1080@30fps would be a lot better.

Oh so not in sales... I agree, in true performance, no one can do it better than plat when it comes to skill based hack-and-slash which Ryse and God of War are not

30-40 fps, I think. Ascension performs worse.

I would guess so given the graphically fidelity at development start was 360 level so going to the Wii U means refinement and honing things such as frame rate. It looks good, but enjoy one games doesn't mean I no longer enjoy something like God of War.

I must disagree. 30 fps wouldn't do Bayonetta's fast-paced gameplay justice. 60 fps is much preferred - which is why the 360 version of Bayonetta is superior to the PS3 version.

Fair enough. Although I'd like to see people stop comparing GoW to Bayonetta considering how different they actually are, especially in terms of gameplay focus.

Platinum and Team Ninja (Ninja gaiden) are the best teams at making action games. Of that theres no doubt.

With that said, i love the genre so i enjoy Ninja Thory and Sony SM stuff. I even enjoy steam mercury an vigil games.

They are both hack n slash games, so of course they are the same. I mean Super Meat Boy is the same as New Super Mario Bros. U
