Hahaha

And why are you posting PC footage of The Witcher 3!?  Come on now...

About the poll results, I guess it's safe to say that there are a larger number of people who agree that the Wii U just isn't as weak as "hardcore gamers" and the media want to make it out to be.

Also, I still see people who missed something I stated earlier: why is it that only the PS4/XBox1 will get "so much better" with time, but the Wii U won't?  That sounds pretty biased, because I'm sure that, while Nintendo is behind in terms of HD development, we're going to see an increase in what the Wii U can do as well.  As I said before, we won't see it from 3rd parties, because the Wii U is an afterthought, so it's up to ONLY Nintendo to really push the system, and they're already starting to pick up the pace (SM3DW is a graphical achievement for Nintendo, anyone who owns it can see this, and so does Eurogamer!).  The hurricane that will occur at E3 with the Zelda reveal is going to be all kinds of popcorn munching time, lol

It's just that the PS4 and the X1 has tons of memory to work with. Going from the G70/R520 to the HD 5000 wasn't exactly what I'd call a big leap in architectural efficiency ... DX11 features suffered alot in evergreen series GPUs where it's weaknesses were Tessellation and Compute was poorly handled. While southern islands GPUs is still very mediocre in tessellation it is still worlds better than what evergreens tessellation engine was capable of and it shows especially in the heaven benchmark. Another good tool for the GCN GPUs were partially resident textures where it gives very fine and coarse control of mip mapping on the tiled textures and this helps save a ton of bandwidth and texture fillrate.

Part of the reason may just be that you failed to put in an option that says "No, the gap is still the same" without coming across as a joke. Both the "PS4 IS GOD" option and the "PS4 sells better, so it is better" one are clearly joke options and all three of the other options are pro-Wii U and clearly not jokes. I know that I, for one, didn't vote in the poll until you mentioned the results because of this.

While I recognize there is no option that says "I don't think the landscape has changed", there's also no denying that no one simply says "The PS4 is more powerful than the Wii U", it's always "The Wii U is UNDERPOWERED", "The PS4 STOMPS on the Wii U", "The PS4 BLOWS THE WII U OUT OF THE WATER", "The gap between the PS4 and Wii U is a GENERATIONAL LEAP"... So, it was a clear choice to give PS4 people the option to state their console is a god, because apparently they don't refer to their console in the same league as the Wii U, but a league above (which it's actually not, it's just more powerful).

That, in less words, makes sort of the point that's been made several times in this thread:

CAN the Wii U do the same things as the PS4/XBox1? Yes.

Can it do it as WELL as the PS4/XBox1? No.

It's not underpowered, it's just less powerful than the other two.  This message needs to get through people's heads, lol

Would you consider the Wii underpowered, not just less powerful than the other two?

I stated this earlier in the thread, but given the quickly growing size of the thread, will understand that you missed it...

Yes, the Wii was underpowered, because there is an architectural difference in what the machines CAN do between the Wii and PS3/XBox360.

The Wii U no longer has this problem in what it can and can't do.

That's a silly way to define underpowered. The Wii U could be as strong as a smartphone and yet with your logic it wouldn't be underpowered.

really? just watched the trailer, not bad,but gow3 looks better, honestly it does... kzsf/ryse smoke this by miles, many games on ps4/xone beat this easily

Yeah, I also think God of War 3 looks better than Bayonetta, and Ryse by an absolute ton.

you' re damn right. Although I think it looks much better than bayonetta.

I can feel you reaching, but I'll play ball...

When a system CANNOT do something another CAN because the architecture IS NOT ABLE TO do it (not that it can't do it as well), then there's a proper gap.

The Wii CANNOT do things the PS3/XBox360 can do because of its architecture, not just because of its lack of power.

please explain to me how on a technical X looks better, mighty pc gamer, did you spot most of the grass in X is flat, looking like card board cut outs in the trailer, or that the image quality looks pretty bad and so are the jaggies, what about that horrible animation.

It has higher geometry(poly count,) better shadows, higher res textures, and more going on in the screen at once, animation is about as shitty as FF14 or any JRPG, there is nothing I can say about that one. The only JP studio that has my jaws drop on animations is PG+.

I don't know why animations have to be terrible in jrpgs. Hopefully, this should improve this gen. That X video looked good however, the animations make it look like a ps2 game.

I think both Bayonetta 2 and X look great, and I plan to buy both when they come out. However, I think The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is probably one of the best looking next-gen games currently announced (at least in regards to titles with actual game play footage released), and it is coming out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
