800K a day!? This is incredible revenue for a game as simple as Candy Crush Saga! This actually proves that what counts the most on mobile is the entertainment factor. If you have a simple but original game, that is catchy and addictive, you are up for great heights!

It is far, far more than that. King.com just filed an IPO, they made 1.88 BILLION dollars in 2013, with vast majority coming from Candy Crush. Candy Crush is generating 78% of King’s revenue, that means the game pulled in about $ 1.46 billion last year, or around 4 million dollars each and every day.  Candy Crush alone has 93 million daily players, and 408 million active players each month -easily the most popular game in the world. They made 564 million profit. Let's see if they can keep it up on 2014.

So yes, they are not doing too badly. You can check all the numbers here yourself:

The actual papers they filed for the IPO are here, you can see all the money, numbers of players etc yourself:

But hey gta 5 made 1 bil in 3 days.
Console gaming still is > mobile gaemz

Weak. A game like this  should make at least 5 million daily in order to be considered successful.

Agree that GTAV is an incredible success story.

Not that I want to defend King as such (as I find their ethic dubious)...

But CC Saga cost very little to make compated to GTAV, CCS seems to continue making 4 mil a day  month on month, as opposed to early sales spike, and of course the retailers, distribution, manufacturing etc. takes a large slice of the GTA money (compared to 30% cut by Apple/Google).

In other words, both are very successful, but in a different way. And risks are very different too. Getting to top 10 in App Store is stupidly hard, while doing a GTA costs incredible amount of money up-front.

Yea true. CC is pretty much a gold mine. I think the majority of its players are adults who aren't all in the modern era gaming etc, while that game is pretty simple. Its a classic. And what im saying might be stupid but since it has a population of older individuals (atleast imo, I always see adults playing it in the subway while us kids are way past that lol) a lot can afford to spend 20$ on a little game they play whemever they ride the bus. I don't see actual "gamers" spending money on such a game and 4mill a day is a LOT.
