MKWii has generated a revenue of around 1.7 Billion. Thats counting out you have to buy the expensive HW from the same manufacturer then the game.
How does your little game compare to that?
Not a chance.

In Candy Crush specifically, microtransactions, you'd be surprise how many people pay $5 bucks to get extra lives or power ups. Also given it's popularity, King also sells Candy Crush merchandise. In the case of Flappy Bird which doesn't have microtransactions, that money comes purely from publicity. |
wow now i c y everybody is tryin to get into that! but those games r so shallow imo

MK Wii has been around for 5 years. If Candy Crush keeps making this revenue, in 5 years (counting from today) it will make ~1.5 billion. We also don't know if this 800k comes from the game alone or if it includes money made from advertisement and their merchandise.
Nintendo and PC gamer

And this is why I don't like mobile gaming; it encourages a lack or ambition and risk taking and does nothing to forward the gaming medium.
Easy money does not a good developer make.
That's almost obscene.
Please excuse my bad English.

My little game? I don't even like the game so drop your shield.
Your arguments are so off point i'll not even consider answering you as you don't even get the point being made here!
This is the same shit as 1983. The market is going to implode as well in a couple of years, once there are too many shitty Apps/Games. Right now these game are a novelty for regular ppl, but they won't keep on playing shit like this forever. Especially once Smartphone HW develops further on further it will become harder and harder to dish out shit like that and find ppl to play this stuff.
Every developer jumping on this train and actually thinking it is going to be future investment '(instead of easy fast cash) deserves what's coming to them.
and like zynga, when the next great game comes out their revenue can plummet in a matter of weeks crushing the company. i would never invest my money into these fad companies.
VERY IMPORTANT!
As the Think gaming site clearly indicates, this is revenue from US iOS version only. Candy Crush is HUGE in rest of the world too, and even more massive on Android and it is also the most popular game on Facebook. The whole global revenue is much, much higher. Japan is a bigger mobile market for example in revenue and CCS is huge there too.
Also remember that the dev cost of CCS is miniscule compared to console games, and Apple's cut is much lower at 30% compared to retail. Plus a game like this sells for a very, very long time.
So no wonder we are seeing big publishers making bets on mobile.

It's from the US version of the App alone, so no merchandise, unless you have the option to buy some via the App. And this is the revenue of a non holiday period. I wish i would have looked in december :P
