4- USA 9 7 11 27

Woah, we made that far up the table? Didn't expect it with that suckys start in... practically everything.

Well, in light of hockey final and the fact Sweden doesn't have a chance to take our place, I say... Go Sweden!

Indeed, it's quite a surge in results...

But my dislike of Tre Kronur is stronger than my desire to see Russia stay 2nd or even get to 1st... so... CANADA!

Well, actually the results turn out to be pretty good for us if compared with other Winter Olympics within last 20 years or so (few medals short of Lillehammer-94, have a chance to beat it in next two days). It just how Winter Olympics usually play out, no strong leader, tight race. But it could have been so much better...

People joke, let biathlonist shoot at hockey players -- nobody will hit the target -- but everyone will have fun.

These Winter Olympics are the first ones I even followed, I expected Russia to erase everyone being both the host and a wintery country, but to see a ~4m country like Norway do so well surprised the hell out of me. They have wonderful conditions for being that good, and I bet lots of desire to be so good, too... but still.

I can understand where the joke comes from

Well, then you don't know Winter Olympics very well. Norway always do well, skiing, biathlon -- it's their thing. They were only one medal behind us in Lillehammer, at home. Leaders are pretty much always the same: Russia, States, Norway, Germany and Canada with their ups and downs and some casual top-5 leaders like Italy or Netherlands.

But yes it could have been a lot better if not biathlon and skiing -- that fault is entirely on coach -- athletes are month or two behind their peak form.

//And no worries, Norway will be eaten soon. If not by us, Canada or the US will take the lead. Mwa-ha-ha.

@Xen

I'm actullay more interested in tank biathlon tournamnet this July. Israel just joined the competition btw ;) Going to be fun.

No country has won as much as Norway in the winter olympics. 325 medals so far from 1924-2014, 117 of them are gold.

I'm not sure about total count, but I think Soviet Union + Russia have won more, or that's cheating? :D

Watching replays for today... we out of competition in biathlon, but winning in sports I never heard of, wtf is short-track :D

This Korean guy is godly good, from last to gold medal!

 Going to celebrate this with the song of another great Russian Korean. Was my favorite back in the army.
