In that case, no game is better than the Nintendo World Championships 1990 on the NES because it is the most expensive.

the argument is in regards to price justification. besides ppl don't buy nwc 90 to play with it.

In that case why would someone buy ICO PS2 or WindWaker GC when they could own it on PS3/WiiU respectively in a higher resolution?

to play it on their gamecube ps2.

Are you kidding me? it's more likely that people buy these games for these prices to collect them. If you wanted to play it, you would've bought it when it was out or when the console was still alive and kicking. Why buy a game that costs more than the console? Also price does not reflect quality as shown by my post about NWC90! so your argument about price justification is just ridiculous. ICO was and still is a masterpiece.

ico is a strange piece of work but ultimately it's an escort puzzle mission with a sentimental quality to it.  Not game of the year material imo. Eye of the beholder maybe. Sure ur right they buy to collect but it's a good playable experience unlike nwc90.  They get to enjoy playing it, not just owning it. I think Windwaker is more comparable to Combat evolved as far as craftsmanship.  I don't know how much that remake cost at launch but i'd say near full price would be acceptable.

Definitely agree with you there. I didn't think highly of ICO when I first started to play it but it somehow attached itself to me. It's also my girlfriend's favourite game so I guess that could also be a factor as to why I think highly of it lol

Windwaker is a brilliant game, there's no doubt about that. The full price for the remake is definitely worth it only due to the fact that it has been completely redone as opposed to having a simple makeover like a lot of the PS360 remakes.

I haven't fully given ico a chance.  Everytime i start to play i get disinterested very fast.  Not the games fault of coarse, i swear one day i'll get into it :) shadow of the colossus was more adventurous and made me buy a ps3 in hope of last gaurdian.  But it too lacked in ways, though touching as it was.

I hear ya on being more than a makeover.  Arguably it's the sole reason for justification.  There's a part of me that thinks a good game is always a good game... especially if it's better than it's contemporaries.  and demand is a fairly good factor in pricing.   An example is earthbound. It costs 25% more than other snes vc games but it's also a great game and a very very expensive ebay item.  It's alright if you disagree.  If i was selling quality software in high demand i'd sell at a premium to increase it's "perceived" value.

Earthbound is worth the price on the eshop as it is both very good and very hard to find. Nintendo were on a winner there. Unfortunately it took longer for the public to realise how good the game was and it was for that reason we didn't get to see Mother 3 in EU.

OT: It's a supply-demand situation. If there is not enough supply to meet demand, then the value of the game will increase. If there is too much supply, the value of the game will decrease. A great example of this would be Super Mario Bros 3. Easily one of the greatest Mario games but can be picked up for a petty sum.

This is how I see fanboys for each system

Sony Fanboys: Inflated Ego. Spoiled. Think they are the best since their consoles are always ''Winning" PS1, PS2, PS3 (Not in sales but in game quality) and now PS4

Nintendo Fanboys: Blind. Always in denial. Won't accept the truth that Nintendo from the past is no longer and they have no idea what the hell they are doing.

Xbox Fanboys: Butthurt. Jealous that their machines sales can't touch Sonys (Except the 360 which is kneck at kneck) PS2 raped their Xbox and PS4 is raping their One

PC Fanboys: Angry. Cause they have no Console quality exclusives LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talking out my ass here :P

to add:

playstation fanboys live to bring down the other fanboys. it's their job in life to make everyone else's displeasure their pleasure.

nintendo fanboys would buy any hardware with a Nintendo logo and spit on any third party effort for any reason.

xbox fanboys.. where are the xbox fanboys?  i haven't seen them do any weird shit.  I've just seen xbox fans.. intelligent and almost mature.

pc fanboys have every right to feel superior they are gods with great power and triple A games for under a buck!

I'd give it a "B-" for creativity and "F" for content. Kind of reminds of that SpurgeRyan thread where he is urging people to buy one third party game a month.

Yep, now Nintendo fans must do charity for multi-million dollar corporations.

Finally some logic in the thread. Why should I buy something I don't like?

There are millions of people that buy those games, but they don't pick up a Nintendo system because they don't expect the games they like to show up there, and third parties won't port their games to Nintendo systems because their audience isn't there.

Nobody except SubiyaCryolite buys something based off promises, so the only way to break the vicious cycle is to build an audience that likes those games on Nintendo systems, but third parties aren't willing to, and if Nintendo does it they'll switch to the "We can't compete with Nintendo" we've heard before.

Correction, Nintendo's problems are it's fanmen.

I really do love you, man.

Why do people add "boys" to the end of fan all the time?

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Gender inequality. They are sexists.

Because boys are fans of things while Men have fans.
