Forums - Gaming - Sony sold all of 5% more home consoles worldwide than Microsoft last quarter

PS4+PS3 in Oct-Dec 13? 7.8 million

XBO+X360 in Oct-Dec 13? 7.4 million.

Difference? +5.4% Sony

Or MS sold (meaning sold to retail) 94.9% as many consoles as Sony.

And Sony had like 50+ additional markets than MS for PS4, right? 50 markets=5% lead.

So? Easy to explain.

1. Next Gen: Retailers ordered all they could get and we know that the shipped/sold difference for the X1 was pretty significant
2. The 360 generally performs pretty well during the holidays, in the past not rarely outselling the PS3 during that time, so it's not surprising that shipments are high here as well

That much? So the closest Microsoft could get to Sony all year was 5% thats massive over a whole year.

Good thing for the Ps4 it also has Japan coming, Japan > Rest of the Xbox one's territories to be released.

What do the more markets of PS4 have to do with sales of last gen systems?
Sounds like someone who is so desperate that he needs last gen to make current gen look better.

And all that bullshit about Sony is in more markets gets on my fucking nerves. Yes Sony released in more markets, because they are awesome. If it's apparently so easy and cheap to release world wide just to get more sales why doesn't MS do it?  Because they did a worse job at launching apparently and now they suffer the consequences.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Yes I know, getting out sold by %5 a quarter isn't overly close.

Well, you have to do something when all your threads about PS4 demand being over, because the console is in stock at Amazon for a day or two, have been proven wrong time and time again. :D

PS4 4.2m sold to customers

Xbone 3.9 sold to stores of which only 3m sold to customers

This basically means that PS3 outshipped 360 in traditionally 360s best quarter and the only time of the year 360 come close to PS3 numbers:

PS3 3.6m

360 3.5m
