So in this chart you're telling me a cheaper priced console is outselling a higher priced console?

O_o

People love buying cheaper items??? Thats a shocker..

I even marked the part of your post that this was referring to -.-

So why did ps4 outsell the xbox one in those listed countries?

Simple: It outsold the competition because it is priced at a lower price. Fact!

So you do admit that the most important reason for the PS4 outselling the X1 is not that it released in more countries? Well then I've made my point.

Also if you seriously believe that the only reason the PS4 is outselling the X1 in those continental european countries is the $100 prize difference, then you really have no idea of the advantage in brand power the Playstation has over Xbox in those countries.

Well it is cheaper....a huge factor.
It did launch earlier....not that much earlier but still
and most importantly. It launched in a lot of more countries so it should have more sales.

US:

PS4 59,085 (+2%) 2,263,631
XOne 49,809 (-11%) 2,117,358

UK:

PS4 17,547 (-15%) 627,008
XOne 8,922 (-16%) 426,152

Germany:

PS4 7,359 (-29%) 295,531
XOne 2,987 (-24%) 146,654

France:

PS4 11,704 (-6%) 286,304
XOne 3,583 (-4%) 144,741

Clearly the most important reason for the PS4 outselling the X1 is the extra countries it's released in.

PS3 sales was better than X360 sales same with a higher price, it's the difference...

Higher price?

Last time i checked they are both the same price.

Not now but between 2006 and 2011.

if I remember correctly in 2007: Jan-July: PS3: $600 X360: $400
                                                         August-December PS3: $500 X360: $350

The gap was larger than the gap between XB1 and PS4.

The gap started getting smaller after the price cut. I remember when the ps3 was reduced to $300 and the gap was still big. Then the price came down to $250. They both have been outselling each other but sometimes it was vice versa. Same way as this gen so far. The xbox one outsold the ps4 in the us during november and december even after the higher price tag.

Same with higher price, PS3 outsold X360 every years, the price came down to $250 only in August 2011.

If both consoles released on the same day and both cost $399.99, PS4 will still outsell X1 simply because the brand is more appealing on a world wide level. 360 had a price and 18 month release date advantage and still lost Europe. Add in Sony's strong presence in the Middle East, Asia and Japan it's a no brainer.

Nice way to spin numbers. Also it's not really surprising for the Xbox One more expensive and available in less countries. Someone already said this so I'll just reiterate their point.

The PS3 was more expensive and released in less countries than the X1 and, yet, they're about similar in sales.

PS3 wasn't truly more expensive, the standard version cost $500, same as the Xbox One, the initial $600 premium model was discontinued due to poor sales so you know most of the sales came from the $500 version. And though the PS3 released in less countries, the total size of the gaming markets are comparable.

When the $600 PS3 was discontinued 9 months later for... another $600 PS3 with a bigger hard drive. In any case, that is not relevant to the first 4 weeks of January which is what the graph is showing.

As for the gaming markets size being comparable, no idea how you came to that conclusion.

*sigh*

how many more times do i have to say it?

1 reason was the price

Another was the early launch

lastly it launched in more countries meaning it reached a bigger audience.

Understand?

Apart in 2008 Global yearly chart shows PS3 outsold X360 every years same with a highter price.

You don't get it do you?

You said "MOST IMPORTANTLY it launched in more countries so it should have more sales"

What I showed with those numbers, is that the extra countries are not even close to being the most important reason why the PS4 is outselling the X1, is that clear now?

Also again even if they were prized the same, the PS4 would still outsell that X1 and LOL at the "early launch" being a reason for the PS4 performing better, grasping at straws aren't we? The PS4 launched 1 week early in NA and 1 week late in Europe, that literally is of no importance here at all.
