Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo wouldn't be losing money if they had the Sony/Microsoft monthly online fee

Nintendo doesn't even make games with much online functionality so I don't know that it would do as well for them.

If Nintendo did a N+ and gave me old Nintendo games and Virtua Console games I would pay them monthly. Then they would just need appealing hardware.

I think an Ultra Gameboy at 99 would to the trick and is hopefully what they have in mind for their next gen portable cause people wont be paying 129 to 249. You can buy a full on phone or personal media device that plays games at that price and in some cases a laptop or cheap desktop. If they do plan on continuing in QoL they will need such low prices cause phones can do alot of that stuff with apps and would a cheaper solution than Nintendo software.

No fees please! I spend enough on games and dont want to spend a monthly fee to play online.

If they decide to charge for online, they better fix a lot of things first. Their network isn't even up to last gen standards.

I don't play my Wii U online anyway, so I certainly wouldn't pay the fee even if everything was behind its paywall.

Not only that and I sound like a broken record but they need a Achievement system. People have addictive personalities, expecially gamers. This would entice people to buy more games, as they also see more value in their games. Someone send this to Nintendo.

Yeah they need to make stamps universal. I like how each game is in charge of giving its own rewards, but just a simple system wide tracking of those rewards would be great.

first, they need to offer actual online gaming experience...

How about this ...

Nintendo Club Premium

- $3.99 a month or a yearly payment of $47.99.
- Free ala carte access to a wide variety of NES, SNES, GB, DS, N64, back catalog titles
- Free Nintendo Direct playable demos of certain upcoming Nintendo games beforehand
- Other bonuses like free DLC for certain games.
- Discounts on certain eShop only projects like say a (new!) F-Zero.
- Xenoblade HD, Wonderful 101, or Pilotwings Resort (your choice) for free for signing up

Online play for games is still free.

The moment they do that is the moment I quit console gaming. You're a sap if you're actually willing to pay extra for the same internet.

It would be dumb to pay for online on a Nintendo systems.

It wouldn't have to be a "pay for online play service".

It could be more of a "Netflix for retro games + some nice yearly bonuses" type service.

Their online is absolutely worthless, why in the world would anyone pay for it?

Calm your tits bro. It may not be up to standards but it's definitely not "absolutely worthless".
