And the Xbone can't run that POS at 1080p? WTF?

Minimum Quality PC game =/= Xbox One game.

PC games are made to scale from old antiquated/low end machines right up to high-end, expect the recommended to be significantly higher.

They basically decided to make a concession of sacrificing resolution for prettier pictures and they probably used a high-level API as the game is relatively small and simple and probably hasn't been in development all that long, plus it's using an almost decade old well understood game engine...

Yeah, I forgot it's using Source. Still wonder why they choose that other than the ease of access to the engine.

Considering Respawn isn't exactly founded rookies, they probably could have used anything, including the Cryengine 3. And to think they even said the PS4 couldn't handle this game to avoid telling people MS paid for exclusive rights for it.

Talk about a complete farce.

"The surprising decision was originally due to the development team wanting “an engine that could work with PS3, because that’s the riskiest platform in current-gen.” The decision was apparently made back in 2011, when the PS3 version of Portal 2 demonstrated how well the console and engine could work together."

Saying a game isn't possible on any other platform is always nonsense. Its something both Sony and MS have a history of saying.

Well those are some low requirements, not surprising it is the source engine, a graphical beast this game is not.

Not always.

The PC is an overall larger gaming market than either singular console platform both in terms of gamer numbers and cash, I wouldn't underestimate it.

It's also easily the largest "Next gen" platform in terms of users too, for a little while longer anyway, if the Steam statistics are anything to go by.

PC is an overall is a very different market. PC gaming often succeeds best in genres that may not do well on consoles and vice versa.

With that said, its no wonder why Titanfall is designed with consoles in mind first.

You are correct, there are genre's which do amazingly well on PC and not on consoles and vice versa, but there are a few exceptions like Battlefield and Skyrim and probably others due to the heavy realiance on digital downloads which are never tracked. (Skyrim had 5+ million playing at once at one point, that beats out the PS3.)

As for Titanfall, it's headed by the guys that did Call of Duty, no thinking is required to wonder why it's designed with consoles first in mind. :P
The player count and hardware requirements say it all really and I would hedge a bet that the sales will reflect that, but that's not a fault of the PC as a platform, more the fault of the developers not caring enough to push boundries towards PC centric audiences which can potentially pay off in spades.
And it forces you to use Origin... Ugh.

Skyrim had 5+ million playing at once? That sounds... unlikely. Well maybe if you include piracy.

Bethesda just said Skyrim sold 20+ million. According to VGChartz, about 13 million of those is physical copies from PS360. Perhaps another million is Xbox 360 digital bundles.

Also, are you implying BF sold better on PC? I find that unlikely.

Skyrim numbers are from steam, does not include piracy.

After doing a Google search I found out back in 2012 Steam hit a record of 5 million users online at once.

Skyrim was mentioned because it was likely the most popular game on Steam at the time.
