Forums - Nintendo - So, Bought a WiiU this weekend to replace a dead Wii...

I just bought a Wii-U as well and I'm evaluating whether I want to keep it or take it back. So far, it's a charming little system and seems really fresh as opposed to my PS4 which just seems like PS3 on steroids (not really a bad thing, just saying).

It will all depend on how much my daughter takes to it. If she falls in love, it stays. We'll see.

My Wii U never takes that long to update, the first update when i got the Wii U did take some time but game updates never take long at all. As far as your choice of games, NSMBU is a fine game for people who haven't put alot of time into the other entries in the series but for people who have it would seem to be quite comparable to the others and might would turn you off in some ways. Then you choose a Mario and Sonic game which has always been pretty average at best series, you really need to play the gems on the Wii U.

Super Mario 3D World
Pikmin 3
Legend of Zelda WWHD
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Rayman Legends
Wonderful 101

Play those then judge the console, the Wii U has its faults but it also has some pretty great games as well :D

1) buy games that were actually made on wii u; but buy zombiu, sm3dworld, pikmin3, w101, zeldaWWHD (not wii u but great game anyways)... plus quite a few other 3rd part ports are very good as well as many great games this year.

2) if you set it up correctly, you'll likely never notice updates again as it happens behind the scenes from here on out... plus for games you should always be able to skip the download and just play while it takes care of itself.

Its a great system with some minor flaws.

EDIT: Plus it also allows you to play ALL of your Wii content and controllers perfectly.

Hum, this thread made my wish of having a WiiU go away, thanks I guess, I cannot expend that much money right now anyways, the WiiU cost 800 dollars in Brazil.

...It looks like we lost him.  Dammit.

Is this a troll thread? Nintendo consoles don't break.  Anyway, for future reference, you can play any Wii U game while it updates and installs in the  background.  Just skip the update and it will be ready next time you play.

You should have gotten Lego City Undercover, that one is great for both kids and adults.

I own a Wii U, and to me right now it only has 5 great games, Super Mario 3D World, Rayman Legends, The Wonderful 101, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Probably the new Donkey Kong game will join that list this month.

3D World and Rayman Legends are wonderful excellent platformers. The Wonderful 101 is a very challenging action game, with gameplay rather similar to Devil May Cry, Bayonetta or the new Ninja Gaiden games, Tekken is obviously a fighting game, and Deus Ex is a western action RPG with first person shooter elements.

I bought the basic set that had no games bundled, I wouldn't really have bought the Sonic and Mario game.

Edit: I forgot about Zelda Wind Waker HD, but I would only recommend it to people who did not play the Gamecube version.

5 is ridiculous.

Heres a list

Your stealth trolling is pretty hilarious, keep it up.

Lego City Undercover seems to be a fun game for families.

What an awful OP. Seriously, at first it was ok, but you just blew it up saying you cant see the difference between WiiU 720p, textures, 4.1 shaders and stuff and Wii 480p and its primitive GC technology.
