Forums - Gaming - PS4 firmware update tomorrow (v1.60) bringing Pulse Headset support, general stability improvements and ability to mute camera.

Does anyone know if there is a difference in sound between the new headset and the pulse elite?

According to PlayStation Europe community manager Chris Owen, firmware update 1.60 will allow you to mute camera.

You can stop derailing this thread now.

Has there ever been ANYTHING that doesn't get moaned about by some people, especially if it's gaming related lol

OT: I REALLY like that new headset and since my Pulse Elite is cracked where it bends to fit on your ears on both sides I think I'll pick it up this Summer (I can still wear them and they work fine it's just annoying and kinda loose now).  Didn't expect them to be LESS expensive and those custom downloadable sound modes sound SWEET.

I fixed mine applying a little superglue directly at all the cracks and it worked! you just need to reapply every now and then if needed. I also applied a thin layer of tape on all the other bends with the smaller cracks just as a precaution and it feels as firm as when it was new. Also, always grab them by the round silver circle where the motors are and avoid grabing them by the speaker itself to avoid further damage. I would consider the new ones if they had the bassimpact feature.

I hope this means my PX4's will work properly now.

What's wrong with them? I have a set, they work fine.

The bluetooth connection doesn't work for chat.

It's not going to. You neeed to plug it in to the controller or use the camera, that's the only way.

I don't moan about minor updates. When all functions are already on the system. But since almost all media features are missing, on the PS4. Headset support of limited types isn't all that great news.

Holy shit that entitlement....

Dude. Sony barley released DVD and BD playback at launch. They seriously screwed up with media features. I bought the system early to use it as a media player. While I wait for games.

The update increased the image quality of DVD playback.

The wireless headsets supported are: CECHYA-0080 / CECHYA-0083 / CECHYA-0086 / CECHYA-0088

Well that's good. The DVD upscaling on the PS4 had some color issues. Comparing it to PS3.
