Forums - Gaming - Rumors: Microsoft Wants to Annualize Halo, Leaks Controlled Because of Low January Numbers

Theses ne Halo remakes will make the franchise have a new game per year... and I guess the January sales in US will be the bigest gap since launch... PS4 could have over 200k lead.

So it's going to be like Mario. I mean Mario has a lot of other sub games other than the traditional platformers. Sports, Party, RPGs, etc. Fine by me, just pick the ones you want.

Yes, can't wait for MS to make Halo's Epic Yarn and Master Chief Synchronised Swimming and port them to PC.

Except Mario works pretty well in other genres.. I can't really imagine a Halo kart-racer.............or can I?

Haven't they already been coming out with a Halo game every year since Halo 3.

Edit:  Already pretty much annualized

lol I stopped at "Halo Spartan Assault"... Yah sure, they are "anualizing" it if you count that kind of title...
Do not forget Halo Waypoint, maybe some boardgames too? Risk and all that? that would certainly fit in your "anualizing" definition.

OP: I think this guy is retarded and anyone would still believe him should really reconsider...

I think the point he was trying to make is that there's been a major Halo release every year since Halo 3. Obviously Spartan Assault doesn't fit the bill, but I think the point still stands that MS released a major Halo game five years in a row. It's been annualized for the most part, and rather successfully overall. Personally I do count Spartan Assault because it's an actual video game . Halo Waypoint isn't a video game and Halo Risk isn't a video game.

No...just no

Yes...just yes.  Only need 1 game a year for an annualized series.

Based on YOUR and only YOUR definition of an annualized "serie" (love how you changed from game to serie by the way, I start to see pattern here, keep going).

What?  That doesn't even make any sense.  Halo Wars and Reach both came out in the same year so based on your or my defintion the release of Wars is irrelavent cause you only need 1 game a year for a series to be annualized.

I'm done with this, whatever please you. Good night lol

Okay...I don't see how you thought that only fit my definition of an annalized series when it obviously is irrelavent for both since Reach came out in the same year anyway.

My reason for saying "No...just no" is that Reach and Halo Wars weren't the same year

God no... We need breathing room people... Having annual releases = franchise fatigue = lower sales in the long run

tell that to cod, blows almost everything out of the water every year. the fatigue is just starting but it still one of the most successfull games.

if they had spread their releases out for 2 and 3 years, fatigue would have set in on an earlier addition and they wouldn't have ended up selling nearly as much games as they have.

COD is the iPhone of gaming. People are gonna buy it from the "improvements" that have been made.

I consider Halo an annual franchise loosely, I mean we'd have to include a simple phone game and a remake...

Yeah, and the remake was directly connected to Halo Reach with the Anniversary Map Pack.
