Forums - Gaming - Rumors: Microsoft Wants to Annualize Halo, Leaks Controlled Because of Low January Numbers

That's debatable. Sony says they never planned on using DRM, but they must have considered it. Microsoft did it to appease 3rd parties so I'm sure EA was pushing Sony hard to get the same DRM policies on the PS4.

There is absolutely no evidence to support that thought but a bunch to contradict that (such as shu saying its just like the ps3 from the initial reveal)

Love how this went from Annualizing Halo to Sony may, or may not inclusion of DRM into the PS4...

Well, it all on topic considering the twitter post is by a guy whos reputation is being questioned.

I cant believe it's a controlled leak, why would they reveal that Halo 5 is not coming this year ? This is the kind of things they wanted to keep secret.

People buy the One thinking they'll get a new Halo by the end of the year, not a remake

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Haven't they already been coming out with a Halo game every year since Halo 3.

Edit:  Already pretty much annualized

lol I stopped at "Halo Spartan Assault"... Yah sure, they are "anualizing" it if you count that kind of title...
Do not forget Halo Waypoint, maybe some boardgames too? Risk and all that? that would certainly fit in your "anualizing" definition.

OP: I think this guy is retarded and anyone would still believe him should really reconsider...

Annualizing = a new game every year, when people call the KH series annualized I don't go flying off the handle saying handheld games dont count!

(your definition:) Annualizing = a new game every year, when people call the KH series annualized I don't go flying off the handle saying handheld games dont count!

Sure, as I said this is your definition and you are free to stick with it.

My definition: annualizing = a new game of the same gender and in the same universe, as oppose to "not a new game in a completly different gender but in the same universe" (which is your definition)

Now, mobile or not; if it is the same gender (FPS for instance) I definitely think it is the same "game"... But when you are talking about completely different games (like this 2 stick shooters Assault or even the RTS one); I'm not considering this as an "annual release of the same game".

Bold part: relax this is just a conversation on an internet forum; nobody's going off the handle here.

The only question I have for you is...is Halo a boy or a girl?

If you wanna lay certain conditions to make the series not seem annualized sure.  Also Wars and Reach both came out in the same year so it doesn't matter if you count it.
