"As a result, we [Nintendo] will be crediting the entire $19.99+tax cost of the Season Pass back to your Nintendo eShop account."

Warner Bros. didn't give anybody a refund; at least, that's not how it appears. If I'm not mistaken, I believe most "season passes" usually come with a disclaimer noting that the publisher reserves the right to NOT supply the content the user is purchasing. Buying a season pass is entirely an act of faith.

Sounds like Warner Bros. kept the money and bailed, and Nintendo offered refunds to the (evidently very few) people who bought the season pass.

Nintendo runs the eShop so they have to be the ones to to credit to credit the money to your account. Warner doesn't have access to Nintendo's eShop records or the power to credit money to everyone's account so there is no way for them to do it themselves. There is no reason to assume that WB took the money and ran, you are just assuming that.

So where's the official statement from WB? How come Nintendo is the one who broke this news? No email from WB, no press release. They can go ahead and prove me wrong. Until then, Nintendo is taking the credit. So far, WB has nothing to say on the matter.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure WB is not obligated to supply the content OR a refund.

no terms of anything near "we dont' have to provide content" and note the bold,...   "sublicensed to you by Sony Computer Entertainment America".    eshop is no different,. nintendo is the distributor.   when you buy content on eshop you pay nintendo.   when you recieve a refund on eshop it will come from nintendo.

don't base your argument on presumptions.

Warner Bros hasn't been a video game publisher for long but they're quickly becoming one of my least favorites.

Pretty shitty of Warner Bros. Thanks for buying our content, please understand you will not receive the content you paid for and we will keep your money.

The issue is barely anyone bought it on wii0-u....

I wonder why Nintendo is giving the refund and not Warner Bros.

because nintendo is the platform owner.

consumer purchases DLC on eshop => nintendo give money to publisher => publisher is paid.

..so logically, if a refund is to be distributed.

publisher gives money to nintendo => nintendo gives money to consumer => consumer is refunded.

what else could happen?   it's not like WB was going to cut personal checks and mail them to peoples homes.  at no point have you ever made a direct transaction with a 3rd party publisher.  whether on eshop/psn/xbl or at brick and morter you are dealing with the distributor.   this is absolutely no different than a store like target or best buy paying my refund when i choose to return a product created by company X, Y, or Z.

Makes sense, thanks for clarifying!

DLC cancel rock bottom?  No, I think rock bottom would be Ubisoft cancelling Watch Dogs.

I was going to buy this game for the wii u' but i guess i wont anymore...

Why, did you actually planned to buy the DLC? I have the game on my Wii U, and is still a good game. I buy a lot of games for all my console, but I NEVER buy DLC, 99% of time time is useless and overpriced.

And you are part of the reason why the wii u wont be getting dlc then.  Honestly, some of the best gaming momements I have had this gen have been in dlc.  Mass effects shadow broker and citadel dlcs or fallout mothership theta and broken steel.  Dlc can and is quite often awesome.  You are missing out by never buying it.

now, as to batman, I dont know what the dlc is like or what is available.  I know I enjoyed the dlc in arkham city.  I also have all the other platforms the game is available on, so if I do get the game, I am going to get it on a platform that I can get the dlc on.  Sucks, because I did enjoy the gamepad functionality on arkham city, but that doesnt make up for more mr freeze...

Does Nintendo even fight for this stuff or just go oh well dont release it then. It just seems like so little care.

Like when skyrim DLC didnt come out for PS3, Sony went in and helped them get it working and gave a day 1 discount for it when it eventually came out.

Im not saying Nintendo didnt try but it does seem like there customers get the shit end of the stick alot.

WAY more people care about Skyrim on PS3 than Batman on Wii U and that is the issue right there.

Sadly this is only going to add more fuel to the fire of the seemingly-never-ending cycle of:

Nintendo fan - "We're not going to buy your [gimped in some way] game if you're not putting the effort in!"

3rd party publisher - "We're not going to put any effort in if you're not going to buy our games!"

Something has to give. I'm not saying Nintendo fans are wrong for doing this, just that it's very different to how third parties would be treated on other platforms. Even a DLC-less Need for Speed on Vita managed 500k + digital and that was still not good enough for a sequel or even the DLC to come.

I think the problem is WiiU's identity. Quite rightfully, people aren't buying these ports because they can also get the same game on PS360, so unless gamepad features are absolutely key to your enjoyment of the title (or you own multiple systems and the title happens to be one of the ones which runs better on WiiU) then there's just no point. Which makes me question why Nintendo released a system in the way that they did.

Meh. Still a dick move by Warner.

Well I personally don't get DLC on any system hower I do agree it is a pretty crappy end of the stick lol.

What I find funny is they based this decision on preorder sales of the content. I don't think many Nintendo gamers preorder stuff. It is not how they do things. If you look at say Pokemon preorders they are well below the first day sales generally.

However in this case I don't think it would have mattered either way but still a stupid way to judge sales.

I think thats not true. Doesnt matter if Pokemon sold way more day 1 than preorders suggest, but the fact is it was STILL preordered, enough to be high on the charts. Can you name another game in the past few years that didnt have preorders and went on to sell big? On Ninty platforms? what about 3rd party games? What do you think Watchdogs is going to do? I'm gonna say itll probably bomb or not do anywhere close to the other versions.

I would like to know what is the problem with DLC and the Nintendo network.

Is it a sales issue or a policy issues. I would like to know...
