Forums - Sony - Sony: “We Don’t Think the Vita’s Going to Sell as Well as PSP,” Unless There’s a Pleasant Surprise

It seems they are going the cheap route, i.e just indies. They need to be financing titles that could push hardware, a GTAV Stories title or something along those lines. something to get people excited about owning the device. Damn even all the iPhone GTA titles running on it in HD would be a good start.

It does feel like they have given putting any large amounts of money into the device :(

Sony man... They may be up to par on the ps4 but with the vita... Their fucks are so low that they aren't even trying anymore... It is their system, they need to make something happen and not wait for some magical pixy to come and sprinkle pony dust all over the vita to make it pleasing to people... Like come on, make games and make it competitive against the 3ds... Don't abandon your child like that :/

Like fuck, it really is the Zune of the handhelds

They released one of the best mobile games ever a few months ago and nobody cared.

They are expecting a surprise? I think THEY should make the surprise, not wait for it.

It's clear it will never reache PSP sales. Heck even 25 million seems like a hard goal for it.

I was thinking the exact same thing, lol. The way he put it, he made it sound like they're just sitting around, waiting for some happy miracle to happen that will surprise them and magically make it sell dozens of millions all of a sudden. X'D

Hey, it worked for the PS3!

It did? How? The PS3 has been getting more first party support than any other console you could name.

You can TRY to make a surprise but you can NEVER PLAN a surprise.

yes you can. Like Nintendo did with Bayo2 for example

Screen experience?!? What the fuck does that mean. It is focuses like that, that go along way to illustrate why Vita never had a chance.

Oh?  What game was that?   Because Tearaway was a short game made by a small team with an unappealing kiddy image to a lot of gamers and Killzone Mercenary was a terribly gimped Killzone game irrelevant to its universe.

Yeah, I am sure the reason why Tearaway bombed was people thinking it is made by a small team so why would they buy it. Unappealing kiddy image is also really hurt Nintendo last gen.

Way to hate, man.

Who needs games when they have they big, beautiful, sexy screen to stare at and fondle and EXPERIENCE?

Have you played both of them? Killzone was just "fun" and Tearaway while certainly not being a big system seller was really amazing.
