Forums - Nintendo - Mario Kart Wii Sold Another Million in 9 Months! 35.26mil LTD

although the figure means obviously shipped, theres no 1M MKWii units on shelves, not by a long shot.
taking in count that it sold 1M in the last 9 months it is to be expected that retailers order MK with a 9 month advance? no way period.+ it is expected to sell less in these upcoming months than it did last year

it is undertracked here in Vgchartz

It's bundled with the Wii isn't it? At least in Canada it is ($99 for Wii mini + Mario Kart Wii). That probably explains a lot.

Theres no official bundle anymore.

Bundles are made by retailers with extr stock and you know that...

Nintendo products are hugely undertracked here,it doesn't surprise me...!

Makes me wonder how big MK will be on the WiiU

You mean shipped. If anything, it could be overtracked.

Seriously? You think there are more than 1mil on shelves.... Really???

I said could, i don't have your sources. If Killzone SF can have as much as 700k on shelves then this one can have a little more on shelves, considering the numbers it's done.

That's not how shelf/store stock works... more stock is needed for the games selling the most at the time, not for whichever has the highest life sales.

Young games (particularly any with front-loaded sales) are likely to fluctuate between ~1 million stock and low stock depending on when you put the counter.... games like MKWii will have pretty consistant stock that depends on weekly sales.

That is frickin insane.

The Wii MIni was available in the USA this past Christmas.

Lol, how the fuck did they manage this one? The wii has been dead for so long, wtf

The Wii isn't dead, it's more akin to an old cat that cant quite be asked to get up anymore.

That said, still pretty damn impressive sales for this ol' kitty.

Get behind the wheel! Hey, I haven't played MKW in about a year. Is the online mode still working? I may fire it up on the ol' Wii U.

It's absolutely incredible how much MK Wii sold considering it barely got bundled at all, at least until very late in the gen. I can't think of any other game ever with that high of an attach rate that wasn't heavily bundled from launch.
