Dear vgcharterz,

Looking at the gap between Wii and PS3 is at 770k in Europe right now. With PS3 taking around 25k last week (will probably be less for the rest of year because of decline in sales), how long do you think it will take for PS3 to overtake Wii??

I'm betting that around October we will have statistical tie / PS3 overtake.

PS3 to outsell the Wii in Europe, the 360 to outsell the Wii in the US. Only main region that remains is Japan.

If it were to maintain around 25k a week it might do that in october, but like you said, it will decline.  As ps4 gets more attention, the ps3 will also decline more and more.  My guess is it wont happen this year, but probably sometime next year.  Possibly spring.  

Its crazy that of the three major regions, we have three different winners this last gen.

Of course it is possible, well, for the PS3 at least. Unless they cease PS3 production while the price is still $270.

Of course it is possible, well, for the PS3 at least. Unless they cease PS3 production while the price is still $270.

That is because PS3 will sell in tridimensional ways not only planar =]

Anyway it'll be a tough call... but I still think they have a shot at WW by the ending end of things.

December -before christman when sales rise ps3 will sell 100-200k a weak and will pass Wii in Europe.
(+ i think there"ll be a pricecut this year+ a lot of 360 converts who switched to ps4 may buy a ps3 to play all that ps+ stuff and things like uncharted ,tlou etc()
