Why does the WWE even bother with doing so many house shows, expecially the day before the Royal Rumble. Their attendance is ussually anywhere from 2000-5000. It just doesn't seem worth the risk.

Ok I guess I undeshot it a little bit at 5,000, its more like 6000 for the non-tv events. Either way is it really worth doing a live event the day before the Royal Rumble for somewhere in the range of 200 - 250k in Revenue. I do know that the WWE offered refunds at the Kalamazoo event because Daniel Bryan was advertised but did'nt appear. I have never seen them do that other then with Cena a few times.

Daniel Bryan will be one of the surprise entrants (for the biggest pop of the night - it's all part of the ongoing Bryan vs. The Authority angle, which will culminate at WM XXX. Any 'confirmation' of him not being in the RR match is total kayfabe) and will most likely win.

Rumored surprise entrants:

Dolph Ziggler (He'll be backstage tonight and will be in the Rumble, medical clearence pending)

Chris Jericho (he's at a car show today in Pittsburgh - at the very least he'll be backstage, off camera)

Sheamus (same as Jericho)

Christian (fully recovered from his concussion)

Jake "The Snake" Roberts (Jake has been lobbying to be in this for a year now - plus he made a surprise showing at old school Raw a couple weeks back)

Kevin Nash (He spent last night in Pittsburgh)

2 Cold Scorpio (was a prominent name in ECW, also worked in WWF as Flash Funk - this is another nostalgic card that will help promote the broad spectrum of talent that's archived in the WWE Network)

Jimmy Wang Yang (he's been making hints on Twitter, was backstage at last weeks Raw, and is close friend with Batista; having close connections in pro wrestling is good)

Gene Snitsky (Was backstage at at WWE house show in Reading, Pennsylvania last night)

Rob Van Dam (there's been talk of him signing another contract with WWE lately)

Kane (part of CM Punk's angle vs. The Authority - if Kane were to eliminate Punk, it'd set up a grudge match at WM XXX)

Sting (highly unlikely rumor, but if he'll ever perform in a WWE ring, it'll be this year at WM XXX)
