720p does 1080i. Not the other way around. 1080i is interlaced, it does 2 540p images. it does one 540p image in 1/60 of a second. While 720p does one 720p image in 1/60 of a second. 720p is actually better than 1080i. 1080i is dead though.
720p - 399 results 1080i - brings only 2 results. 1080p - brings 654 results. |
Well.. laughably, the pointof this little exercise was to see if the majority had upgraded to 1080p or if they mistankenly thought their old 1080i set was 1080p. I know 720p is better than 1080i but thanks for the details. There's a lot I wasn't aware of. For someone who knows so much why don't you own a widescreen? But yeah, I actually thought ppl didn't upgrade tv's all that often. I'e never been so wrong lol

60 in LG Plasma 3D TV I bought off of Amazon for 1200 USD. Bought it a few years back to replace my first HDTV, a Toshiba Cinema Series 56HM195 DLP TV which accepted up to a 1080i input but it displayed in 1080p which I bought in 2005 for 2000 USD.
I loved my Toshiba but this LG plasma I got has been a great purchase.
I want to move up to an 80" LED when can afford it and put the 60" in my room or maybe in the extra den.
-42" 3D LED 240hz Smart TV
-37" LED 60hz TV
Both are Vizio and 1080p.

LG 47"
47CM960S = 1080p 3D
Bought march 2013 for 370 bucks.

Panasonic 50"
TXP50GW10 = 1080p Plasma
Bought 2009/10 for 1500

I don't have a TV but I have a 1080p monitor so I'll go with 1080p. It's a BenQ Q2220HD in case you were wondering. Also, I'd never get a 1080i TV anyway if I decided to get a TV so this shouldn't make much of an error in the poll.
3 1080p TVs (2 LG 32" & 42", 1 Samsung 22")
1 old school projection 1080i (Philips 30")

I have a 70" Vizio 1080p Tv, a 50" Panasonic Plasma 1080p and a 47" LG LED 1080p and a 32" Samsung LED 1080p tv. I also have a 24" Asus 1440p Monitor if that counts too.
Long Live SHIO!
