Well, the PS3 Slim officially its just called PS3. And the Super Slim model is actually the official PS3 Slim.

Oh why would Sony release a cheaper and improved version of a system that is struggling? Why would anybody? Totally doesn't make sense.

The Vita 2000 is what they are talking about. With nothing else they focused so much on the slimmer aspect currently. No one cares how slim the Vita TV is. It's not something people hold in their hands so the form factor is more than irrelevant.

They will be talking about the Vita 200, maybe a bit about the Vita TV and a few games but the focus will be Vita. I doubt there will be any new games announced. Also no one is saying that they will talk 2h about Playstation. It says "breakfast briefing", now guess what half of that briefing will consist of.

I bloody hope there is. Even if it's just the stuff they have teased at etc from last year. Have you seen the SCEE 1st party 2014 lineup for Vita at the moment? >_< it consists of a late translation of a game already available in Europe and Borderlands 2.

Official or not, everyone call it that way. And vita 2000 is slim too, even if not as much as tv.

I'd bring over both Vita 2000 and VitaTV at the same time. With the console struggling as it is at the moment I don't really see what they'd have to gain by staggering the launches.

I just hope they have some software announcements to make to back things up, because the slate is absolutely blank for Q3/Q4 aside from indies and a couple of XSEED titles which haven't even been officially announced yet.

Oh and also, March launch. Alongside FFX HD; Borderlands 2 and Minecraft. Bundle Minecraft. And advertise it for the love of god...

maybe there won't be a vita 3000 doubt it but maybe as of this date there isn't one planned henceforth calling it slim

Oh and by the way, PSP 2000 wasn't called PSP 2000 in the UK.  It was something like "Slim and Light" while 3000 was "Slim and Light with new screen" or somesuch.

Considering the amount of improvements (memory; more lightweight; supposedly more comfortable to hold & vastly improved battery life) compared to the one downgrade in the screen, I can see where he's coming from.

Kind of similar to what happened with 3DS XL really.  Released a much improved model in many ways but it had crap speakers compared to the original 3DS.  

I wouldn't say that the screen issue is as clear cut as it seems, either.  Objectively I think OLED is better but it still suffers from burn in and mura effects and some of the colour pallette is a lot further off being "correct" than the LED screen.

I'm considering a Vita 2000 simply for the battery life & better ergonomics.  For me, the screen is a downgrade but the other improvements vastly outweigh that, so overall I'd consider it an improved version.

Whilst personally for me it's OLED all the way. It's clear that the price of LCD is more attractive to most consumers. Absolutely devestating. (I have Panasonic plasma TVs (wanted Pioneer but they stopped doing them) and will only get OLED phones).
