I'm no Nintendo gamer, but I will be the first to say that Cooking Mama is one Hell of a fun game. I've spent more time on it on my girlfriend's DS than I did on a lot of other "serious" games.

That writer can suck mah balls. Cooking Mama was so good, I bought Crafting Mama AND Gardening Mama. And Crossbow Training wasn't $60. It was $19.99. I hate when these writers rewrite history by bashing games they clearly never played.
