Sorry slight OT, but does anybody know any Wii games that use two remotes?

There are plenty wii games that uses 2 wii remotes, even 4

I think he meant two remotes for one person? I can't say I do know of any...

On topic: There definitely would have been some really cool uses for it, but the price of those controllers is absurd.

You can play samba de amigo with 2 wiimotes per person.

@yes please

Also competitive pokemon. You can do all the fancy predictions now, since you are not limited by one gamepad

Yeah, sorry, I meant for one player. I'm sad that even Wii didn't fulfill all its potential, and WiiU probably will even less. Now Nintendo should "copy" Sony and release their next handheld as a controller to the next console. It would be basically another analog stick plus extra triggers, right?

Carpe diem!

Glad it never happened, for me just one gamepad is one too many. Pro controller FTW!

I think it won't ever happen. Second Gamepad would currently have to retail for >$100.

nope

It'll never happen. The second controller will be too overpriced, and not enough games will end up utilizing the functionality. It's far too late for this idea to come to fruition and actually take off.

First off  who says you have to buy a second gamepad? Since Nintendo is all about local coop  just invite a friend that owns a WiiU so he can bring over his gamepad  et voila.

2)  The second controller compatibility has already been patched into the WiiU firmware with an update. No point in patching it in and not using it.

Right, so you're going to make your friends (who probably don't own a Wii U) buy Gamepads.  Awesome idea.  Because we all know that everyone has a Wii U, haha.

The Wii is now compatible with a second Gamepad... and how many games utilize it?  How many have been announced?  How many unnanounced?  Zip, zero, zilch.  There is absolutely no indication that this functionality will every be used.

First they need to do a game that utilize 1 gamepad :P

Seriously, they are strugling to make 1 mind blow use of the gamepad. And for now there could be a lot of people buying the game pad for their wiis. So, its not the time to do this.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Re-read and try again you dont make sense.  Actually go back in time and do something else instead.

Its Invite friends over that have a WiiU gamepad. (you know like Invite people over and play Tekken or Resi Revelations or NSMB2 on 3DS) not FORCE people to buy a device ROFL....

and Its WiiU not Wii....

people just want and when it happens they find a reason not to want it anymore. in this case it would be too expensive

I honestly don't think I would get another gamepad
