Forums - Gaming - Capcom Wants to Hire 100 Developers a Year as PS4 and Xbox One’s Success Increases Demand for Games

Awesome! now get cracking on dead rising for PS4 and a monster hunter that maximises vita's potential.

Great, now do something with Mega Man.

hope this means they r goin to stop out sourcing there games to shit developers

So much for being "Unsustainable". Yay Capcom, yay 8th gen.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Can Capcom make a comeback?

Ha ha ha. Didnt they wanted to focus on mobile market? Their management is divided and far away from actual gaming culture.

I guess poor Ono will finally get his team filled again. SF5 can happen now... or The capcom vs SNK 3 they refuse to give us and try to make us swallow some SF vs Tekken no one asked for.

I think they should hire Ninja Theory to make DmC 2, without the poor PR stunts, and either develop internally or hire platinum to do DMC5. Believe me, both will sell better if you dont make one come at the cost of the other. Both series went in different directions and just like Megaman X and network could co-exists, so can DMC and DmC.

Aside from that... looking forward to more RE despite all the internet hate.

I generally like Capcom stuff, but i want them to lay off the malpractices and bring back Onimusha, Dino Crisis and Breath of fire (no not that abomination they are putting on mobiles). I want all of these on consoles. Dont care wich one, just consoles.

Good, new hardware shaking up the industry. Hopefully dev costs can be reduced this gen so AAA games can have lower budgets, and hopefully that means we get more of them :D

In 2014, we will integrate our global operations and sales departments. Our goal is to further strengthen marketing strategies for (1) downloadable content (DLC), (2) mobile contents, (3) online operations, and (4) brand contents. I believe that we have largely completed the framework needed for reexamining development operations and reinforcing marketing strategies. Our next objective is to provide to as many people as possible a variety of products that take full advantage of Capcom’s vast amount of content.

Number 2 is Mobile, and Number 1 is DLC.

Actually the increase in staff is because Capcom is on the record saying it takes 8-10x more work to develop for these platforms than the previous generation.

EDIT : here's the link http://www.gamespot.com/articles/capcom-developer-next-gen-games-take-8-10-times-more-work-to-develop/1100-6417090/

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
