I could no longer resist the lure of going multi console this generation. I ended up picking up a Xbox360 elite(>.> mostly for the black paint job yes I'm that excentric.) I grabbed Viva Pinata and Ninty Nine Nights, both games exceeded my expectations.

So as with most new systems I already got a little list in my mind of the games I want(Blue Dragon, Too Human, Lost odessy(sp) The Last Remnant etc) I was curious if any users could point me in the direction of any original Xbox games that could be purchased cheaply or any truely satisfying 360 games.(Keeping in mind I HATE shooters and survival horror as well as sports.)

Ok.... you say you hate survival horror but I emplore you to rent and try out Dead Rising. As for other games on the 360 the cream of the crop is shooters so its a tough call. If you like sandbox try saints row or crackdown. Oblivion if you haven't played that. I haven't tried Phantasy star yet So I cannot give you a honest opinion about that one.

Xbox 360 games:

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Gears of War (do you hate 3rd person shooters too?),

Dead Rising (Not really a survival horror it's an action game),

Guitar Hero II (if you didn't own the PS2 one).

Those games are all worth it and I'm probably forgetting some others. You can easily sink over a hundred hours in Oblivion.

Thanks, I was already looking at Panzer Dragoon and Jade Empire prior to my purchase can't believe I forgot about them.

I'm just worried it's gonna give me the ring of death now lol *crosses fingers* please god no.

Also I don't really hate 3rd person shooters I'm just not very big on violence I'm more about goofy offbeat and good old fashions RPG/Adventure games. I'd rather explore then destroy if that makes sense. 

 That's the biggest downside to the 360, I am always scared of that to, especially since I got it once then turned the console off and back on and it disappeared. Is it only a matter of time before my 360 red rings for good? Really crappy...

 I'm not like freaking out about it my systems tend to last. The only one I've ever replaced was a PS1 (I bought it launch day I expected problems with it) My systems tend to last I just don't want to have to send it in. If it overheats, my friends an engineer I'm having it tested if it's because of design flaw, they're gonna hear from me.

I third the nomination for Dead Rising. It's my favorite 360 game. I keep playing it over and over for some reason. Finding new and interesting ways to decimate zombies is not only hilarious, but also immensely rewarding for some reason.

If you're into racing sims, Forza is only three weeks away. 

I'm not sure what is and isn't coverd in the 360's backwards compatibility.

So if Sid Meier's Pirates! isn't one of those covered games, you're going to have to sell that 360 and buy an original Xbox. It's an amazing game, my favourite on the system. 

Guitar Hero 2 if you don't have it on PS2...
