Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Leak Codename: Fusion DS and Termnial

Fake.

Nintendo wouldn't have such specs or suppliers nailed down this early.

The specs read like a dream wishlist, especially the "DDR4".

These extremely detailed "leaks" always seem to end up being complete fakes. That, or they are way off.

I think your description of them being a wishlist is spot on.

It's so much fake that's not even funny.

Also

CPU: IBM 64-Bit Custom POWER 8-Based IBM 8-Core Processor CODENAME JUMPMAN (2.2 GHz, Shared 6 MB L4 cache)
Co-CPU: IBM PowerPC 750-based 1.24 GHz Tri-Core Co-Processor CODENAME HAMMER

Why would they go through the hassle of using a new, non backwards compatable CPU (hence the need for WiiU's one for that task) and not going x86 like Microsoft and Sony?

It's a move that would probably make the CPU cheaper, but that would also please the devs/publishers with a more homogeneous market that could make ports a more straightforward, and therefore cheaper, affair and so more likely to happen.

It doesns't make sense.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Detailed specs this early? Fake. Besides that, Ninty's next console will be x86.

Seems fake...though 4.6TFLOPS might be something they are actually willing to go for, considering we can easily expect 10+ TFLOPS from next PS/Xbox.

Still, that would be insane jump in raw power for them...but probably necessary if they decided that 3rd party support is of utmost importance for their next system.

Just out of curiousity, when are you expecting the next sony/xbox console to come out, as well as how much do you expect it to cost with 10+ TFLOPS?

2018 or 2019, priced about the same as PS4 or less.

10TFLOPS is just 5.5x of PS4, so it's not as big as it might seems at first - jump from 360 to PS4 is much more actually, so it would need to be something like 14TFLOPS for similar TFLOPS jump (measuring performance of different GPU gens solely on TFLOP numbers is pointless of course)

or ARM.

It's very difficult to believe that all those details leaked.
This reminds me of that rumor of the next pokemon game having a version for the "terminal" and another for the handheld, I think it was called "Pokemon plus/minus".

Fake. If Nintendo is going to do the whole "better than PS4/XB1" thing though they should be prepping for a 2016 launch, perhaps even 2015 if they can make it and build the console for the US market.

I think breaking the console cycle that forces them to lineup with MS/Sony would be a godsend for them if they had 2-3 years on their own to build up a headstart.

I'm no expert, but I'm told that the Terminal would cost around 600-700 dollars in 2017, so I have a hard time believing that the ps5 would release a gpu that is 3x better than that and be 400 dollars or less only 1-2 years later.

Well, it is a possibility. The problem is that ARM is made thinking about power consumption, so the clock-performance rate is terrible. Even the most powerfull ARM isn't much competitive to a Celeron in CPU power, let alone a next gen (I mean PS5 and company) CPU that will pack a punch maybe much higher than high end Core i7 CPUs we have today.

EDIT: Here we have some benchmarks on Phoronix. Tegra 3 loses easily to Exynos and this one loses for Atoms. i3 crushes them all. Of course, we have Tegra 4 and new Exynos now, but probably they wouldn't do much better against newer Atom and iX processors.
